HYLO PARIN® eye drops are moisturising eye drops containing sodium heparin. For moisturising and caring for the cornea and conjunctiva in cases of eye irritation accompanied by redness, a burning sensation and itching.
Additional moisturisation for long-lasting healing
Persistent dryness of the ocular surface takes its toll on the sensitive cornea. The inevitable blinking of the eyelids and the associated mechanical friction lead to irritation of the affected tissues. This results in redness, itching, a burning sensation and a painful foreign body sensation. The associated inflammatory processes can, in some cases, be very protracted and cause long-term distress to those affected. To achieve long-term healing success in such cases, particularly intensive moisturisation of the eyes is required.
The combination of hyaluronic acid and heparin – for an extra boost of moisture
The body’s naturally occurring hyaluronic acid is ideally suited to providing sustained and intensive eye moisturisation. Due to its chemical structure, hyaluronic acid binds and retains many times its own weight in water. It adheres exceptionally well to the surface of the eye and forms an even, stable film of moisture that promotes the healing of the damaged ocular surface.
The heparin contained in HYLO PARIN® provides additional moisturisation. This substance thus effectively supports the regeneration of irritated corneas and conjunctiva, thereby ensuring accelerated and long-lasting healing.
Glycerol – for smooth blinking
The glycerol contained in HYLO PARIN® offers patients a dual benefit. On the one hand, glycerol protects the eye cells from potentially painful hypertonic stress. On the other hand, thanks to its oily consistency, it acts as a lubricant, reducing friction between the eyelid and the irritated cornea.
Preservative-free and phosphate-free in the patented COMOD® system
Preservatives, which are intended to prevent contamination of eye drops during storage and use, can damage the cells on the surface of the eye. These substances can destroy the natural tear film and may also cause adverse reactions¹. Modern artificial tears are therefore completely preservative-free. HYLO PARIN® is also preservative-free, as the patented COMOD® multi-dose system already prevents contamination of the solution by microorganisms.
However, in addition to preservatives, the phosphates frequently found in eye drops can also have a harmful effect if the cornea is already damaged². Reaction with calcium released from the cells of a damaged cornea can result in the formation of poorly soluble crystals, which can lead to calcium deposits and cause permanent deterioration of vision. Eye drops used to treat dry, damaged eyes should therefore not contain phosphate. HYLO PARIN® is completely phosphate-free and thus eliminates the risk of crystal formation.

Directions for use
- Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and, with your other hand, twist the bottle away from the cap. Before using HYLO PARIN® for the first time, hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing straight down and press the base of the bottle repeatedly until the first drop emerges from the tip. The bottle is then ready for subsequent use.
- Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the base of the bottle.
- Rest the hand holding the COMOD® bottle on your free hand, as shown.
- Tilt your head back slightly, use your free hand to gently pull your lower eyelid away from your eye, and press quickly and firmly on the centre of the base of the bottle. This activates the mechanism to dispense a drop. Thanks to the COMOD® system’s special valve technology, the size and speed of the drop remain consistent even when very firm pressure is applied to the base of the bottle. Slowly close your eyes to allow the liquid to spread evenly across the surface of the eye.
- After use, carefully replace the cap on the dropper tip immediately. Please ensure that the dropper tip is dry. When administering the drops, avoid the dropper tip coming into contact with your eye or facial skin.
Notes: 10 ml of solution can be dispensed from the bottle; this corresponds to approximately 300 drops. For technical reasons relating to the manufacturing process, a small amount of liquid always remains in the bottle. There is no limit to the duration of use of HYLO PARIN®. The contents of a single bottle of HYLO PARIN® should always be used to treat the same person.
