HYLO CARE® eye drops for moisturising and supporting the healing of a damaged eye surface, e.g. as a result of dry eyes or after surgery, with sodium hyaluronate 1 mg/ml and dexpanthenol.

Dry eyes - stress for the cells in our eyes

If our eyes produce too little tear fluid or the composition of the tears changes, this means stress for the cells of the cornea and conjunctiva. The cells are damaged and can even die due to a deteriorating supply of nutrients and oxygen. The same can occur after surgical procedures on the eye or after mechanical injuries to the surface of the eye. In all cases, the result is reddening of the conjunctiva, itching, burning or a painful foreign body sensation.

Intensive care is required in these cases

In addition to intensive moisturising, the aim of treatment for an irritated eye surface is to quickly regenerate the damaged tissue. HYLO CARE® contains the body's own naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. It is ideally suited for lasting and intensive eye moisturisation. Due to its chemical structure, hyaluronic acid binds many times its own weight in water and retains it. It adheres excellently to the surface of the eye and forms an even, stable moisturising film. HYLO CARE® also contains the substance dexpanthenol, also known as provitamin B5. Dexpanthenol provides an additional moisturising effect and thus creates ideal conditions for rapid healing of the injured cornea.

Preservative-free and phosphate-free in the patented COMOD® system

• Preservatives, which are intended to prevent eye drops from becoming contaminated during storage and use, can damage the cells on the surface of the eye. These substances can destroy the natural tear film and can also be the cause of intolerance reactions¹. Modern tear substitutes are therefore completely preservative-free. HYLO CARE® is also preservative-free, as the patented COMOD® multidose system prevents the solution from being contaminated by microorganisms.
• In addition to preservatives, the phosphates often contained in eye drops can also have a harmful effect if the cornea is already damaged². The reaction with calcium, which is released from the cells of a damaged cornea, can result in crystals that are difficult to dissolve, which can lead to calcium deposits and permanently impair vision. Therefore, eye drops for the treatment of dry, damaged eyes should not contain phosphate. HYLO CARE® is completely phosphate-free and therefore eliminates the risk of crystal formation.

How to use

1. Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and use your other hand to pull the bottle away from the cap with a twisting motion. Before using HYLO CARE® for the first time, please hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards and press the bottom of the bottle repeatedly until the first drop emerges from the tip of the bottle. The bottle is then ready for use for the following applications.
2. Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the base of the bottle.
3. Support your hand with the COMOD® bottle on your free hand as shown.
4. Lean your head back slightly, pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye with your free hand and press quickly and firmly on the centre of the base of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for removing a drop. Due to the special valve technology of the COMOD® system, the size and speed of the drop are always the same, even if you press very hard on the bottom of the bottle. Close your eyes slowly so that the liquid can spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
5. Close the dropper tip carefully with the cap immediately after use. Please ensure that the dropper tip is dry. Avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye or facial skin when dripping.

Notes: 10 ml of solution can be taken from the bottle; this corresponds to approximately 300 drops. For production reasons, a small amount of liquid always remains in the bottle. The same person should always be treated with the contents of a bottle of HYLO CARE®.
