The vitamin C contained in Green Health OPC+C capsules helps to protect the cells from oxidative stress, strengthen the immune system and reduce fatigue.
The term OPC refers not only to a single active ingredient but to a whole spectrum of bioactive plant substances. Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), which are polyphenols, are abundant in nature. Grape seeds and skins in particular are regarded as excellent sources of OPCs.
In this context, the EFSA states that free radicals (ROS Reactive Oxygen Species) are produced by biochemical processes and external influences (radiation and pollution). They damage DNA, proteins and lipids if these are not protected by an antioxidant network, such as antioxidant nutrients as "free radical scavengers".
