Dr Wolz Borage Oil Capsules is a dietary supplement with 500 mg borage oil per capsule. Protects the cells from oxidative stress* and has a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Many nutritionists criticise the fact that we mainly consume animal fats from meat, sausage, cheese and butter and only rarely use fats of plant origin. However, the intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids is very beneficial for the body. Borage oil is a vegetable oil that contains gamma-linolenic acid. It is obtained from the seeds of the borage plant and is a natural source of this fatty acid.
Two borage oil capsules contain 240 mg gamma-linolenic acid and 24 mg vitamin E. The vitamin E it contains contributes to cell protection*.
Active ingredient
Borage (also known as cucumber herb) is a plant of the broadleaf family that originally comes from the Mediterranean region. It was not until the late Middle Ages that the herb arrived in Central Europe, where it was soon used in natural history. The flowers, the leaves and the oil extracted from the seeds are all used for this purpose. Borage oil has the highest proportion of gamma-linolenic acid of all plants. The borage plant also contains bornesite, allantoin, tannins and silicic acid.
* Vitamin E helps to protect the cells from oxidative stress.
