Dosage form
Cream
Directions for use
- Dosage for children and adults: Apply a thin layer of the cream twice daily (morning and evening) to the affected areas of skin and the surrounding skin (approx. 1–2 cm).
Method of use:
- For use on the skin.
- Daktarin 2% cream is for external use only.
- Massage the cream into the skin with your finger until it is completely absorbed. Apply the cream sparingly to avoid maceration of the skin.
Duration of treatment:
The duration of treatment for fungal skin infections depends on the severity, location and extent of the condition and is generally 2–6 weeks. The signs of a skin fungal infection usually subside significantly within the first 7 days of starting treatment. To prevent a recurrence, treatment should be continued until the fungal culture is negative, but for at least 1 week after the symptoms have disappeared. There should be a 3–4-day treatment-free interval between the last application and the taking of a fungal culture, so that any residual active ingredients do not affect the culture.
