Dr Kottas Detox Tea is a herbal tea to support well-being. Appreciated and tried and tested to support fasting.
The fact that DR. KOTTAS Purification Tea used to be called "blood purification tea" is no coincidence. The herbs in this recipe have a cleansing effect on the body. Nettle and birch leaves stimulate kidney function and increase diuresis. Dandelion root stimulates the flow of bile and thus the digestion of fat due to its bitter ingredients. Peppermint leaves have a refreshing and harmonising effect on digestion. Pansy herb is traditionally found in many old herbal tea recipes for fasting and is highly valued for its so-called blood-purifying effect. The balanced herbal blend of DR.KOTTAS detox tea is a very old and proven family recipe from DR. KOTTAS. You too can help your body to "purify".
Dandelion (Folium Taraxaci, Radix Taraxaci, Flos Taraxaci and Herba Taraxaci cum radice)
- The dandelion is an extremely adaptable plant; it grows in many soils. From March to April, the bright yellow flower heads can be seen in meadows and fields. The young fresh leaves can also be prepared as a salad or soup.
- Effect: Dandelion stimulates kidney and gall bladder activity. It is therefore used as a naturally mild choleretic, diuretic and adjuvant for digestive disorders, particularly in cases of poor fat digestion, in cases of bile flow disorders and dyspeptic complaints.
Birch (Folium Betulae)
- The birch species are trees up to 30 metres tall that stand out due to their white-patterned bark. The leaves used medicinally are collected and dried in May and June. They contain flavonoids, which are supplemented by numerous other ingredients (essential oil, bitter substances, tannins, vitamin C, saponins, etc.).
- Effect: To promote urine formation and to treat diseases in which increased urine formation is desired (urinary gravel, to prevent urinary stones). As a flushing therapy for the urinary tract in bacterial, inflammatory diseases associated with spasmodic conditions.
Peppermint (Folium Menthae piperita)
- Peppermint is a spontaneous cross between two species of mint (M. spicata and M. aquatica). It is sterile, i.e. it cannot reproduce naturally. It was first discovered in England in 1696 in a field of spearmint and has been cultivated in the form of seedlings ever since. It grows up to 90 cm high and contains essential oil. The leaves have a characteristic odour when crushed.
- Effect: The main active ingredient in peppermint is essential oil, especially menthol. Peppermint leaves are used to treat colds and headaches and relieve cramp-like complaints in the biliary tract and gastrointestinal tract.
Stinging nettle (Folium Urticae, Herba Urticae)
- The large stinging nettle grows to a height of 60 cm to 150 cm and is dioecious, i.e. a plant only has male or female flowers. In the case of the small stinging nettle, which grows to a height of only 15 cm to 45 cm, each plant has both male and female flowers.
- Effect: Stimulates the entire body metabolism and increases the amount of urine. To support the treatment of urinary complaints.
