Dr Kottas Draining Tea is a herbal tea to support well-being. Orthosiphon, book herb, horsetail and dandelion increase the amount of urine, while peppermint provides a pleasant flavour.
A diet high in salt and an unhealthy lifestyle can lead to excessive water retention in the body. The herbs contained in DR. KOTTAS Draining Tea support the excretory function. They lead to an increase in the amount of urine.
Dandelion (Folium Taraxaci, Radix Taraxaci, Flos Taraxaci and Herba Taraxaci cum radice)
- The dandelion is an extremely adaptable plant; it grows in many soils. From March to April, the bright yellow flower heads can be seen in meadows and fields. The young fresh leaves can also be prepared as a salad or soup.
- Effect: Dandelion stimulates kidney and gall bladder activity. It is therefore used as a naturally mild choleretic, diuretic and adjuvant for digestive disorders, particularly in cases of poor fat digestion, in cases of bile flow disorders and dyspeptic complaints.
Horsetail or field horsetail or horsetail (Herba Equiseti)
- Early in the spring, the field horsetail (horsetail) sprouts brown spore shoots to the surface from a branched rootstock that lies horizontally in the ground. A few weeks later, the barren shoots are formed, which are used medicinally and are rich in silicic acid.
- Effect: Horsetail has a strong diuretic effect, but without influencing or even changing the electrolyte balance. It is ideal for flushing out bacterial and inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract and renal gravel.
Peppermint (Folium Menthae piperita)
- Peppermint is a spontaneous cross between two species of mint (M. spicata and M. aquatica). It is sterile, i.e. it cannot reproduce naturally. It was first discovered in England in 1696 in a field of spearmint and has been cultivated in the form of seedlings ever since. It grows up to 90 cm high and contains essential oil. The leaves have a characteristic odour when crushed.
- Effect: The main active ingredient in peppermint is essential oil, especially menthol. Peppermint leaves are used to treat colds and headaches and relieve cramp-like complaints in the biliary tract and gastrointestinal tract.
