Doppelherz system COENZYM Q10 100 + VITAMINS supports the energy metabolism with B vitamins and contributes to cell protection with vitamin E and selenium. It also contains 100 mg of coenzyme Q10.

Q10 is stored in the mitochondria

Structurally, coenzyme Q10 is a substance that is related to some vitamins and belongs to the group of ubiquinones. Coenzyme Q10 is particularly present in organs such as the heart, kidneys and liver, but it can also be found in the muscles.
Q10 is stored in the mitochondria of cells, which play a central role in our metabolism. Many of us will certainly remember from our school days that the mitochondria are also known as the "power stations of the cells".
The human body can also produce coenzyme Q10 itself. Unfortunately, this endogenous function naturally declines over the years, meaning that the concentration of Q10 in our organs and muscles can also fall. It is therefore advisable to consume a sufficient amount of Q10 with food. Animal foods such as fish, eggs, liver or muscle meat contain a lot of Q10. Plant sources of Q10 include nuts and their oils, pulses and maize - although they have a significantly lower Q10 content.

B vitamins for energy and performance

Our performance and well-being are influenced by many factors. For example, B vitamins are needed for the smooth functioning of the metabolism. However, as the body cannot produce these itself, we have to ingest them through food. With an unbalanced diet, however, the supply of vitamins is not always guaranteed.

The majority of B vitamins can only be absorbed by the body in limited quantities and cannot be stored for long. Take vitamin B1, for example: if too much of the vitamin is supplied to the body at once, some of it is simply excreted again without being utilised.

As the B vitamins are involved in so many processes in the body, an adequate supply is important. In fact, what these vitamins have in common is that they are involved in our body's energy supply. A good supply is therefore particularly important for our energy and performance.

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal protein and glycogen metabolism. Glycogen is the energy store in liver and muscle cells.
Vitamin B1 contributes to the normal functioning of the heart and nervous system. Like niacin, vitamins B2, B5 and B6, it contributes to normal energy metabolism.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) also contributes to normal mental performance.
Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Biotin and vitamin B2 contribute to normal skin function.

The food supplement Doppelherz system COENZYM Q10 100 + VITAMINS also contains vitamin E and the trace element selenium. They help to protect the cells from oxidative stress. The essential trace element selenium also supports the normal function of the immune system.
