Gel
Directions for use
- Adults: Apply the gel 2 to 3 times a day. The amount (approx. 1–2.5 cm of gel) depends on the extent of the inflammation or the method of application.
- Method of use: For use in the oral cavity. At least 5 minutes before applying Chlorhexamed Gel, brush your teeth and then rinse your mouth thoroughly with water (see section 2: ‘Using Chlorhexamed Gel with other medicines’). Apply a sufficient amount of gel after meals and after brushing your teeth, e.g. using a cotton bud or, in the case of the 9 g tube, using the applicator, directly to the inflamed areas in the mouth. Leave the gel to take effect for about 1 minute. Spit the gel out after this time. Do not swallow the gel. You can also use Chlorhexamed Gel like toothpaste. To do this, place approximately 2 cm of gel onto a damp toothbrush and brush your teeth for at least 1 minute. Afterwards, spit out the remaining gel, but do not rinse with water. Do not swallow the gel.
- Duration of use: If you do not feel any better, or if you feel worse, after 3 weeks, contact your doctor.
