Chlorhexamed® Forte dental solution is a surface-active mouth and throat antiseptic (disinfectant) with a broad spectrum of activity and long-term effect against bacterial pathogens and somewhat weaker activity against fungal infections.

Rinsing with Chlorhexamed forte dental solutioneffectively treats bacterial infections in the mouth andthroat.

Chlorhexamed forte dental solution is usedby dentists to treat and prevent bacterial infections in themouth and throat and is indicated

• to reduce and prevent bacterial plaque (dental plaque)
• for the treatment of simple to purulent inflammation of the gums (gingivitis)
• for the treatment or prevention of infectious diseases of the periodontium and theirconsequences (periodontopathies)
• for tonsillitis, angina, strep throat,pharyngitis (inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa)
• before and after dental surgery, as well as for disinfecting injuries andsurgical wounds after initial wound closure
• for aphthae (painful inflamed areas of the mucous membrane of the gums,oral cavity or tongue) and inflammation of the oral mucosa such as stomatitis (especially under dentures) and inflammation of the tongue (glossitis). In the case of severe fungal disease of the oral mucosa (thrush), additional therapy with special antifungal agents may occasionally be necessary
• to eliminate bad breath if normal oral hygiene is not possible and thebad breath is not caused by a stomach disease
• for oral hygiene as part of dental treatment

How to use

Chlorhexamed forte dental solution is used for treatment by the dentist.

• For use in the oral cavity.
• For each application, fill the dosing cap to the mark (10 ml) andrinse in the mouth for 1 minute(pull intensively through the interdental spaces) or gargle in the throat. Thenspit out - do not swallow or rinse. In the case of inflammation of the oral mucosacaused by dentures, the dentures should besoaked in Chlorhexamed Forte dental solution for 15 to 20 minutesat least twice a day after cleaning.Rinse the mouth additionally asdescribed above.
• At least 5 minutes before using Chlorhexamed forte dental solution, the teeth shouldbe brushed and then the oral cavity thoroughly rinsed with water (see section 2: "Use of Chlorhexamed forte dental solution together with other medicinal products").
• Particularly when combating inflammatory diseases of the periodontium (periodontopathies), it isimportant to clean the teeth thoroughly before each mouth rinse in order to ensure better adhesion of Chlorhexamed forte dental solution to the tooth surface and thus effective inhibition of plaque growth.
• In intensive care cases or manually handicapped patients where active mouth rinsingis notpossible, Chlorhexamed forte dental solution can be used to remove plaque by brushing.
• The solution is ready to use and can therefore be used undiluted

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is: chlorhexidine digluconate.
• 1 ml contains: 2 mg chlorhexidine digluconate.
• A single dose of 10 ml contains 20 mg chlorhexidine digluconate.
• The other ingredients are:macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, glycerol, sorbitol (E 420), peppermint flavouring, purifiedwater.
