Canesten Clotrimazole Gyn 3 days - Combination vaginal tablets and cream are antifungal agents used to treat fungal infections of the vagina.

The cream can also be used to treat fungal infections of the glans and foreskin. It is effective against pathogens that can cause fungal infections of the vagina and also against some bacteria. The active ingredient clotrimazole contained in Canesten Clotrimazole Gyn 3 Tage Kombi inhibits the growth of fungi and kills them.

Canesten Clotrimazole Gyn 3 days - Combi is used for the treatment of:

vaginal discharge and inflammation caused by fungi, mostly Candida species, and Canesten-susceptible bacteria
Fungal diseases of the labia (candida vulvitis) and neighbouring areas,
Inflammation of the glans and foreskin in men, caused by yeast fungi (Candida balanitis).

How to use

The vaginal tablets are inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina once a day - in the evening before going to bed - for 3 consecutive days. This is best done lying on your back with your legs slightly raised. Note: The vaginal tablets need moisture to dissolve completely. If the vagina is dry, the vaginal tablet may not dissolve completely. This can be recognised by the fact that crumbly parts of the tablet are excreted. To prevent this, it is important to insert the tablet as deeply as possible, preferably before going to bed. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated. However, if symptoms recur within 2 months, consult your doctor.

Using the vaginal tablet with the Canescomfort applicator: The vaginal tablet should be inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina using the Canescomfort applicator. Preferably before going to bed on three consecutive nights.

Wash your hands before removing the vaginal tablet and applicator from the pack and then again when you have used the applicator.

Method of application-Applicator:

Take the applicator out of the packaging and pull out the applicator stick with the red cap. Insert the vaginal tablet into the open end of the applicator so that the rounded side of the vaginal tablet is facing downwards. Push the applicator stick with the red cap into the applicator until you feel it click into place.
Once you feel it click into place, remove the red cap from the applicator rod and then carefully insert the applicator into the vagina up to the patterned grip zone.
Hold the applicator by the patterned grip zone and gently push the applicator rod as far as it will go to insert the vaginal tablet.
After use, completely disassemble the applicator for cleaning and rinse thoroughly in warm (not boiling) soapy water for 30 seconds and carefully wipe the individual parts. Store the applicator in a clean and safe place.

When reusing, make sure that the red cap is reattached to the applicator rod and repeat the process from step 2. After the last use, dispose of the Canescomfort applicator in a safe place, out of the reach of children. The Canescomfort applicator must not be disposed of in the toilet. During pregnancy, treatment with the vaginal tablets should be carried out without the Canescomfort applicator.

Use without the Canescomfort applicator: Insert the tablet as deeply as possible into the vagina, preferably lying on your back with your legs slightly raised.

Children and adolescents: The vaginal tablets are intended for use in adults. In persons under the age of 18, treatment with vaginal tablets may only be carried out on a doctor's prescription. No data are available on the safety and efficacy of Canesten Clotrimazole 3 Tage Kombi in children and adolescents.

Method of application Cream:

The cream is applied thinly 1 to 3 times daily to the affected areas of skin and rubbed in. In most cases, a 1/2 cm long strand of ointment is sufficient for an area about the size of the palm of the hand. In the case of infections of the labia (candida vulvitis) and neighbouring areas of the woman, apply the cream 1 to 3 times a day to the relevant areas of skin (external genitalia to the anus). The cream is also recommended for the simultaneous treatment of inflammation of the glans and foreskin in men (candida balanitis) in order to prevent a relapse.
In the case of simultaneous inflammation of the external female genitalia or a fungal infection of the partner's male member, you and your partner should undergo additional local treatment with Canesten Clotrimazole cream to prevent re-infection.
Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicides or other vaginal products during treatment with this medicine.
In order to achieve lasting success of the treatment, treatment with Canesten Clotrimazole Vaginal Tablets or Canesten Clotrimazole Cream should not be discontinued after the acute symptoms have subsided.

Duration of use:

Vaginal tablets: treatment for three consecutive days is usually sufficient to eliminate a fungal infection. However, treatment can be repeated if necessary. Do not administer the treatment during menstruation, as the medicine may not be sufficiently effective at this time. The treatment should therefore be completed before the start of the menstrual period.
Cream: The general duration of treatment is 1 to 2 weeks. In general, the signs of vaginal inflammation caused by fungi (such as itching, discharge, burning sensation) will decrease significantly within the first four days of treatment, i.e. the symptoms may persist for several days after the 3-day treatment. If there is no significant improvement in symptoms after 4 days, please consult your doctor.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is clotrimazole.
Vaginal tablets: 1 vaginal tablet contains 0.2 g clotrimazole. The other ingredients are Calcium lactate pentahydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, maize starch, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, lactic acid.
Cream: 1 g cream contains 0.01 g clotrimazole. 1 cm cream contains 2.2 mg clotrimazole. The other ingredients are: Benzyl alcohol, cetylstearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 60, purified water, sorbitan monostearate.
