Amorocutan Nail Polish is a non-prescription medicinal product containing the active substance: amorolfine, for the treatment of nail fungus (caused by dermatophytes and yeasts) in cases of up to 50 % nail infestation (particularly in the front area).
Amorocutan Nail Polish is a medicinal product (broad-spectrum antifungal) for the local treatment of fungal diseases (mycoses) of the nails without involvement of the nail root (nail matrix), such as superficial white nail fungus or nail fungus below the nail, with infestation of less than 50% of the nail surface and less than three infested nails). Amorocutan nail polish contains the active ingredient amorolfine, an antifungal agent that combats a variety of different fungi that can cause nail fungal infections.
How you can actively supportanti-fungal therapy
- The earlier a nail fungus is treated, the better the treatment prospects. As soon as your nail changes visibly or your nail wall isswollen or reddened, please consult a doctor.
- Change socks, flannels, towels and other items of laundry that have been in contact with infected areas every day. Thoroughly washing laundry at temperatures not below 60°C (preferably 95°C) and disinfecting footwear are just as important as the thorough and frequent cleaning of surfaces that have been in contact with infected areas, such as bathroom floors, showers, bathtubs and washbasins.
- Careful and above all cautious nail care is important; only use disinfected manicure accessories and do not share them with others.
- Cut your nails short and straight so that they do not extend beyond the tip of your toes.
- Never walk barefoot! Always wear slippersat home and slippers in public barefoot areas.
- Textiles and shoes made of natural, breathable materials prevent moisture and heat build-up on hands and feet.
- Use your own towel when going to the sauna or swimming pool.
- Check your nails regularly and report any changes to your doctor.
- Limbs with good circulation, whether hands or feet, are less susceptible to illness and existing injuries and infections heal more quickly. This is why exercise is particularly important - even in the case of athlete's foot and nail fungus! A healthy diet, no smoking and, for diabetics, well-controlled blood sugar levels are other important aspects that help to getfungal skin and nail infections under control.

How to use
Type of application: For use on the nails - Apply Amorocutan Nail Polish once a week to the affected fingernails or toenails . Continue the treatment until the affected nails havegrown out healthy (normal appearance of the nail).
Please always observe the following instructions when using the product:
- Before the first application, file down the diseased parts of the nail surfaces as well as possible. For all subsequent applications, re-fileas required (e.g. if the nails become thicker). Disposable files are included in the pack.
- Always use one of the enclosed alcohol swabs to clean the nail surface. This will also remove any varnish residue.
- Apply the nail polish containing the active ingredient with one of the enclosed reusable spatulas. To make it easier for you to apply the nail polish containing the active ingredient , a spatula holder is included in the pack. Please insert a reusable spatula into the spatula holder.
- Please remove the nail polish with one of the reusable spatulas supplied. Dip the spatula with the perforated surface for each nail to be treated and do not wipe it on the neck of the bottle (there is a risk of the screw cap sticking to the bottle).
- Apply Amorocutan nail polish evenly to the entire surface of the affected nailusing the spatula .
- The special shape of the spatula holder prevents the spatula from touching the surface (fungal spores remain on the spatula). You can put the spatula down from time to time without having to worry about fungal spores being transferred.
- Close the bottle tightly immediately after each use to prevent the solution from drying out. Leave the treated nails to dry for 10 minutes.
- To reuse, clean the spatula with the alcohol swab after use. After applying Amorocutan Nail Polish, cosmetic nail polish can be applied as soon as Amorocutan Nail Polish has dried (after 10 minutes). The cosmetic nail polish should be carefully removed before reapplying Amorocutan nail polish . In between, however,the use of a nail polish removershould be avoided.
What elsemust be consideredwhen treating nail fungus ?
- A nail file used for treatment must no longer be used for the care of healthy nails, as otherwise healthy nails can become infected with nail fungus. Use the disposable files supplied to treat the diseased nails.
- The coating of Amorocutan nail polish on the fingernails can be dissolved or removed when using organic solvents (nitro thinner, turpentine substitute, etc.).
- You must therefore wear impermeable glovesto protect the polish layer when working with such agents.
Further tips to support treatment
- Washtowels as often as possible at at least 60 °C.
- Air shoes well and allow to dry.
Elderly people:
- There are no special dosage recommendations for use on older people.
Duration of use: Fungal infections are often very stubborn. You must therefore carry out the treatment continuously once a week (as described above) until the nail has grown back completely healthy. The time required for this is generally 6 months (fingernails) or 9 to 12 months (toenails), whereby the degree of infestation plays a significant role. The rate of nail growth is approx. 1 to 2 mm per month. A review of the treatment is recommended at intervals of approximately three months.

- The active ingredient is: amorolfine . 1 ml of active ingredient-containing nail varnish contains 55.74 mg amorolfine hydrochloride corresponding to 50 mg amorolfine.
- The other ingredients are: Ethanol; ethyl acetate; poly(ethyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, trimethylammonioethyl methacrylate chloride) 1 : 2 : 0.2; butyl acetate; triacetin.
