ACTICOAT FLEX 3 Antimicrobial wound dressings with silver 10 x 10 cm, 5 ST

ACTICOAT FLEX antimicrobial wound dressings containing silver are used for the management of infected or infection-prone acute and chronic wounds, such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns and explantation sites. 

The porous surface structure enables a sustained release of silver into the wound. ACTICOAT promotes an ideal moist wound environment and has been proven to release sufficient silver at a consistent concentration to exert a bactericidal effect.

Properties

• Acts quickly: bactericidal efficacy after just 30^{minutes¹⁻³} 
• Flexible and conformable 
• Long-lasting effect: Long-lasting antimicrobial effect for up to 7 days, bactericidal effect for 3^days⁵,⁶ 
• Broad spectrum of activity: Also effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including MRSA and^VRE4,5 

Benefits

• Can be cut to size & packed into the wound 
• Adapts very well to the wound bed 
• Allows exudate to drain away very effectively thanks to its open-mesh structure 
• Prevents the re-formation of^biofilm7 
• Can be used in conjunction with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for up to 3 days.

Dosage form 

Wound dressing 

Use 

• For dry or only slightly exuding wounds, moisten with, for example, distilled water or INTRASITE◊ GEL. 
• If necessary, cut to the appropriate wound size.
• Apply a suitable secondary dressing (e.g. ALLEVYN◊). 
• Do not use in combination with oily substances. 
• Do not apply directly to exposed tendons, bones or organs
