The ashwagandha root contains the biologically active withanolides. The Ashwaghanda capsules from Pure Encapsulations® are extracted from the root of the plant and contain 25 mg withanolides per daily portion. Like all Pure Encapsulations® plant extracts, Ashwagandha capsules are standardised and tested for 70 different phytochemicals.

Indian ginseng or "winter cherry"

Ashwagandha, also known as "winter cherry" or "Indian ginseng", belongs to the nightshade plant family (Solanaceae) and is one of the best-known plants in the traditional teachings of India, where both the berries themselves and especially the roots are mentioned^.4,5
