magnomed® magnesium film-coated tablets are a foodstuff for special medical purposes (balanced diet). For dietary management of muscle and calf cramps.

magnomed® is used for dietary management of neuromuscular disorders, e.g. muscle and calf cramps or muscle tremors caused by magnesium deficiency, as well as for rapid replenishment in cases of increased magnesium requirements (e.g. during intense muscular exertion, stress or diabetes).

In magnomed® magnesium film-coated tablets, magnesium is present as an organic salt (citrate) with high bioavailability, which can be absorbed particularly rapidly by the body and utilised optimally.

Properties and indications

• Magnesium, an essential mineral, is indispensable for many bodily functions and is involved in over 300 specific enzymatic reactions throughout the body. Magnesium plays a central role in energy production within muscle cells, in neuromuscular signal transmission and in the regulation of muscle activity. Magnesium also reduces nerve excitability and acts as an excellent stress regulator. 
• magnomed® helps to quickly rectify an existing magnesium deficiency or to ensure an adequate daily supply of magnesium when requirements are increased (e.g. during intense muscular exertion, sport, diabetes or stress). magnomed® promotes muscle relaxation, relieves cramps and tension, calms the nerves and maintains performance by optimising energy supply and recovery. In magnomed® magnesium film-coated tablets, magnesium is present as an organic salt (citrate) with high bioavailability, which can be absorbed particularly quickly by the body and utilised optimally. 
• The risk of conditions resulting from magnesium deficiency can be reduced by taking magnomed®. Low magnesium levels can lead to numerous conditions, including metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can arise as a complication of existing conditions and thus trigger further illnesses. Therefore, taking magnomed® is recommended for prevention and as an adjunctive therapy. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Directions for use

• Take 1 film-coated tablet twice daily, whole, before a meal with sufficient liquid. magnomed® film-coated tablets can generally be taken without restriction at the recommended daily dose. 
• For adolescents, the recommended dose is 1 film-coated tablet once daily.
• However, it is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
• Notes: Foods for special medical purposes must be used under medical supervision and are by no means a substitute for drug therapy. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Use under medical supervision. Store in a dry place, protected from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Contraindications/Side effects/Warnings and precautions: magnomed® must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or excipients. Magnesium may also have a laxative effect at higher doses. magnomed® is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
