Product information "easyear® ear drops"
easyear® ear drops contain a 0.5% solution of lidocaine hydrochloride in glycerine (anhydrous). They relieve pain and itching in the outer ear and aid the healing of ear infections.
easyear ear drops are a medical device whose action is based on the osmotic properties of glycerine.
The main ingredient in easyear is glycerine. Glycerine has two key properties that are relevant to its use in ear drops:
- the oily consistency of glycerine means that it adheres gently to the skin at the application site, allowing it to exert its protective properties.
- Glycerine’s hygroscopicity, in turn, means that when applied topically, it draws water out of swollen tissue (osmotic effect), which reduces swelling and thus relieves pain.
Lidocaine is used as a topical analgesic that enhances the effect and also relieves earache. The glycerine in easyear drops softens earwax, helps to remove it and, thanks to its water-binding properties (osmotic effect), therebyeliminating thesymptoms associated with inflammationin ear conditions (such as earache and swelling).
easyear ear drops help with:
- Inflammation of the external ear canal, characterised by swelling, pain and itching
- Painful symptoms caused by regular exposure to water and moisture, e.g. from swimming and bathing
- Painful symptoms caused by prolonged use of headphones or by earwax blocking the external auditory canal
- Painful symptoms caused by the frequent use of personal care products that damage the natural protective layer of the external auditory canal, e.g. shampoos, soaps and gels.
Active ingredients
- Glycerine has an oily consistency, which allows it to adhere gently to the skin whilst providing protective properties. In addition, glycerine draws fluid from the tissue, which reduces swelling and thereby relieves pain.
- Lidocaine is used as a topical anaesthetic to enhance the product’s effectiveness and further relieve earache.
