- the oily consistency of glycerine causes it to adhere gently to the skin at the application site, this allows glycerine to develop its protective properties.
- the hygroscopicity of glycerine in turn means that glycerine administered superficially removes water from swollen tissue (osmotic effect), which leads to a reduction in swelling and thus to pain relief.
- Inflammation of the external auditory canal characterised by swelling, pain and itching
- Painful discomfort caused by regular exposure to water and moisture, e.g. from swimming and bathing
- Painful discomfort caused by prolonged wearing of headphones or earwax blocking the external auditory canal
- Painful discomfort caused by the frequent use of personal hygiene products that destroy the natural membrane protecting the external auditory canal, e.g. shampoos, soaps, gels.
- Glycerine has an oily consistency and therefore adheres gently to the skin with protective properties. In addition, glycerine draws fluid from the tissue, which reduces swelling and thus relieves pain.
- Lidocaine is used as a superficial analgesic, which enhances the effect and also relieves earache.
