The tried-and-tested active ingredient, combined with an innovative formulation, delivers the keybenefits of doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel:
- doc® gets to the root of the pain

- Powerful against inflammation Ibuprofen inhibits the formation of certain messenger substances (prostaglandins), which play a major role in pain transmission and inflammatory processes.
- Relieves pain in no time at all thanks to rapid penetration of the active ingredient – thanks to microgel-formulated ibuprofen in gel form.
The benefits of ibuprofen gel at a glance
Ibuprofen for pain and inflammation is available in various dosage forms; tablets and gels are particularly common. For painful and inflamed muscles and joints – for example, in the back – the external, topical application of ibuprofen has proven particularly effective.
Here are the advantages of ibuprofen gels such as doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel compared to other dosage forms such as tablets:
- doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel is not taken orally, but applied directly to the skin. This allows the active ingredient, ibuprofen, to reach the affected tissue quickly and directly.
- doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel contains fully dissolved ibuprofen, encapsulated in nanometre-sized micelles. This allows the active ingredient to pass easily and particularly quickly through the outermost layer of the skin.
- doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel contains an active ingredient that accumulates at the target site – the affected muscles and joints – but not in the blood. It therefore places virtually no strain on the body.
- Furthermore, ibuprofen is readily stored in the subcutaneous fatty tissue, which promotes a long-lasting effect.

Directions for use
- The recommended dose is: doc® Ibuprofen Pain Relief Gel is applied three times a day. Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, a 4–10 cm-long strip of gel, corresponding to 2–5 g of gel (100–250 mg ibuprofen), is required. The maximum total daily dose is 15 g of gel, equivalent to 750 mg of ibuprofen.
- Use in children and adolescents doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel should not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age, as there are insufficient studies available for this age group.
- Method of use: For external use only! Do not swallow! doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel is applied to the skin and gently rubbed in. Increased penetration of the active ingredient through the skin can be achieved by using iontophoresis (a special form of electrotherapy). In this case, doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel should be applied beneath the cathode (negative pole). The current should be 0.1–0.5 mA per 5 cm² of electrode surface area, and the treatment should last approximately 10 minutes.
- Duration of use: The treating doctor will decide on the duration of treatment. As a rule, use for 2–3 weeks is sufficient. There is no evidence to support the therapeutic benefit of use beyond this period. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of doc® Ibuprofen Pain Gel is too strong or too weak.
