Voltadol® 24 hour pain patch 140 mg active ingredient-containing patch, 2 ST

The Voltadol® 24-hour pain relief plaster is an over-the-counter medicine containing the active ingredient diclofenac, at a dose of 140 mg of diclofenac sodium per active-ingredient-containing plaster. Voltadol® 24-hour pain relief plaster is a pain-relieving medicine.

It belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Voltadol 24-hour pain relief plasters are used for the local, symptomatic, short-term treatment (up to 7 days) of pain associated with acute strains, sprains or bruises to the arms and legs resulting from blunt trauma in young people aged 16 and over and adults.

Voltadol 24-Hour Pain Relief Patch is a white, 10 cm x 14 cm, self-adhesive patch containing the active ingredient, made of non-woven fabric on one side and paper on the other. Once the protective film has been removed, the adhesive film is transparent.

Directions for use

The recommended dose is one active-ingredient plaster once daily. Apply one active-ingredient plaster to the painful area. The maximum daily dose is one active-ingredient plaster, even if more than one affected area needs to be treated. Always treat only one painful area at a time.

Duration of use: Do not use Voltadol 24-hour pain relief plasters for longer than 7 days. If you need to use this medicine for pain relief for longer than 7 days, or if your symptoms worsen, consult your doctor.

Method of use: For use on the skin.

Instructions for use:

1. Cut open the sachet along the dotted line and remove the active ingredient patch.

Applying the patch:

1. Remove one of the two protective films.
2. Apply the patch to the area to be treated and remove the remaining protective film.
3. Press the patch gently with the palm of your hand until it adheres fully to the skin.

Removing the patch:

1. Moisten the plaster with water, lift one corner of the plaster and carefully peel it off the skin.
2. To remove any plaster residue, wash the affected area with water, gently rubbing it with your fingers in a circular motion.

Notes: If necessary, the medicated plaster can be secured with a gauze dressing. Apply the medicated plaster only to intact, healthy skin. Do not use the medicated plaster in combination with an airtight (occlusive) dressing. Do not wear the plaster whilst bathing or showering. You must not cut the medicated plaster in half.
