Traumon® Gel is a medicinal product for the treatment of swelling and pain following blunt injuries, sprains, effusions and sports injuries, lumbago, neck stiffness and muscle tension.
Traumon Gel is a medicine for application to the skin. Etofenamate, the active ingredient in Traumon Gel, belongs to the group of non-steroidal (cortisone-free) anti-inflammatory drugs and has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.
The active ingredient, etofenamate, penetrates the skin rapidly and reaches the affected areas of tissue. When the gel is applied to the skin, it initially produces a slight cooling effect. If you do not feel any better, or if your condition worsens, after 2 weeks, consult your doctor.

Gel
Directions for use
- Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dosage is to apply a thin layer of a 5 cm to 10 cm long strip of gel 3 to 4 times a day – depending on the size of the painful areas – and rub it in gently. A 5–10 cm-long strip corresponds to approximately 1.7–3.3 g of gel (equivalent to 170 to 330 mg of etofenamate). The maximum daily dose is 1320 mg of etofenamate.
- Patients with impaired liver or kidney function: No dose adjustment is required in the event of liver and/or kidney dysfunction.
- Children and adolescents: Traumon Gel must not be used in children and adolescents, as there is insufficient experience with this age group.
- Method of administration: For use on the skin. Apply the gel externally and rub it in as precisely as possible over the painful area. Please wash your hands after applying Traumon Gel to prevent the gel from accidentally getting into your eyes.
- Duration of use: The duration of use depends on the duration of the symptoms. In the case of blunt injuries (e.g. sports injuries), the treatment may last up to 2 weeks. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor, who will decide on the next course of action.
