Tannosynt® liquid bath concentrate is a non-prescription medicine for use in inflammatory, weeping and itchy skin conditions, e.g. nappy dermatitis (inflammation of the skin caused by wet nappies).
Tannosynt liquid is a tannin preparation with anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects. Tannosynt liquid is an aqueous concentrate for use in the form of compresses, washes and baths for inflammatory, weeping and itchy skin conditions in the acute stage. It contains a special water-soluble tanning agent which has an astringent, tanning, scab-forming and vascular-sealing effect and has a soothing effect on inflammatory skin changes. Excessive sweat secretion is slowed down. The treatment of fungal infections is supported by removing the breeding ground for pathogens. Tannosynt liquid also has antipruritic properties.
Tannosynt liquid is used for
- Inflammatory, weeping and itchy skin conditions, e.g. nappy dermatitis (inflammation of the skin caused by wet nappies);
- intertrigo (soreness in body folds); - first-degree burns (reddening of the skin without blistering);
- itching - especially in the genito-anal area;
- excessive sweat secretion; and to support the local treatment of inflammatory fungal diseases.
Tannosynt liquid must not be used:
- if you are allergic to the synthetic tanning agent or any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product listed in section 6.
- on the eye.
- In the case of severe cardiovascular disorders, high blood pressure, febrile illnesses or tuberculosis, full baths - including those with the addition of Tannosynt liquid - must not be taken.
Dosage form
How to use
- Tannosynt liquid is used diluted with water (1:1000 to 1:5000) in the form of compresses, washes or baths.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, compresses and washes are generally applied several times a day, sitting, partial and full baths are initially applied once a day, later two to three times a week.
- The screw cap of the bottle has a measuring scale on the inside and is used for correct dosage.
- Tannosynt liquid dissolves easily in lukewarm and warm water.
- Partial bath - sitz bath - compresses - washes: 5 litres of water + 5 ml Tannosynt (= 1/3 measuring cup) correspond to a dilution of 1:1000.
- Children's bath: 25 litres of water + 5 ml Tannosynt (= 1/3 measuring cup) correspond to a dilution of 1:5000.
- Full bath: 150 litres of water + 30 ml Tannosynt (= 2 measuring cups) correspond to a dilution of 1:5000.
- The recommended bathing time is 10 - 15 minutes.
- The bath temperature should be between 32 and 35° C.
- Method of application: For use on the skin. Do not use undiluted. The dosages and instructions for use apply to infants, toddlers, children and adults.

- The active ingredient is: Phenol-methanal-urea-polycondensate, sulphonated, sodium salt (synthetic tanning agent).
- 100 g liquid bath additive contains 40.0 g phenol-methanal-urea-polycondensate, sulphonated, sodium salt (synthetic tanning agent).
- The other ingredients are: Purified water, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, sodium sulphate.
