- Burning, itchy and watery eyes, the feeling of sand in the eyes or dry eyes are symptoms of an irritated eye. These are often signs that the eye is not sufficiently moisturised. Another cause can also be hypersensitivity to certain substances (e.g. pollen, animal hair or house dust), so-called allergies.
- As an allergy is accompanied by the same symptoms, it is difficult to differentiate between dry and allergy-induced irritated eyes.
- In these cases, HYLO DUAL® offers particular advantages thanks to the dual active principle of sodium hyaluronate and ectoine.
- Sodium hyaluronate is a natural substance that is found in the eye, but also in other parts of the body. It has the special physical property of forming an even, stable and particularly long-lasting moisturising film on the surface of the eye without being quickly rinsed off. Ectoin is a natural substance obtained from microorganisms that live in extreme environments (e.g. salt lakes). To protect themselves from the extreme environmental factors that prevail there, these microorganisms produce the natural substance ectoine, whose special properties are utilised in HYLO DUAL®.
- Ectoine increases water retention on the cells of the ocular surface and thus forms a physiological barrier on the conjunctiva for allergenic substances. At the same time, ectoine stabilises the fat-soluble part of the tear film, which protects against excessive evaporation of the tear fluid.
- The combination of sodium hyaluronate and ectoine provides the eye with an intensive, long-lasting moisturising film and protects against the evaporation of tears. This alleviates environmental irritation, which leads to inflammatory symptoms, as well as the typical symptoms of itching and burning that occur with allergic reactions.
Dosage form
How to use
- Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and use your other hand to pull the bottle away from the cap with a twisting motion. Before using HYLO DUAL® for the first time, hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards and press the bottom of the bottle repeatedly until the first drop emerges from the tip of the bottle. The bottle is then ready for use for the following applications.
- Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the base of the bottle.
- Support your hand with the COMOD® bottle on your free hand as shown.
- Lean your head back slightly, pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye with your free hand and press quickly and firmly on the centre of the base of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for removing a drop. Due to the special valve technology of the COMOD® system, the size and speed of the drop is always the same, even if you press very hard on the bottom of the bottle. Close your eyes slowly so that the liquid can spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
- Close the dropper tip carefully with the cap immediately after use. Please ensure that the dropper tip is dry. Avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye or facial skin when dripping.
