- Burning, itchy and watery eyes, or the sensation of having grit in the eyes or dry eyes, are symptoms of an irritated eye. These are often signs that the eye is not receiving sufficient moisture. However, another cause may also be hypersensitivity to certain substances (e.g. pollen, animal hair or house dust), known as allergies.
- As an allergy is accompanied by the same symptoms, it is difficult to distinguish between dry eyes and eyes irritated by allergies.
- In such cases, HYLO DUAL® offers particular benefits thanks to its dual-action formula combining sodium hyaluronate and ectoine.
- Sodium hyaluronate is a natural substance found in the eye, as well as in other parts of the body. It has the unique physical property of forming an even, stable and particularly long-lasting moisturising film on the surface of the eye, without being quickly washed away. Ectoin is a natural substance derived from microorganisms that live in extreme environments (e.g. salt lakes). To protect themselves from the extreme environmental conditions found there, these microorganisms produce the natural substance ectoine, whose specific properties are utilised in HYLO DUAL®.
- Ectoin increases water retention in the cells of the eye’s surface, thereby forming a physiological barrier on the conjunctiva against allergenic substances. At the same time, ectoin stabilises the lipid-soluble component of the tear film, which protects against excessive evaporation of the tear fluid.
- Through the combined action of sodium hyaluronate and ectoine, the eye is provided with an intensive, long-lasting moisturising film and protected against tear evaporation. This alleviates both environmental irritants that lead to inflammatory symptoms and the typical symptoms of itching and burning associated with allergic reactions.

Directions for use
- Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap firmly just above the bottle and, with your other hand, twist the bottle away from the cap. Before using HYLO DUAL® for the first time, hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards and press the base of the bottle repeatedly until the first drop emerges from the tip. The bottle is then ready for subsequent use.
- Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the base of the bottle.
- Rest the hand holding the COMOD® bottle on your free hand, as shown.
- Tilt your head back slightly, use your free hand to gently pull your lower eyelid away from your eye, and press quickly and firmly on the centre of the base of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for dispensing a drop. Thanks to the COMOD® system’s special valve technology, the size and speed of the drop remain consistent even when very firm pressure is applied to the base of the bottle. Slowly close your eyes to allow the liquid to spread evenly across the surface of the eye.
- After use, carefully replace the cap on the dropper tip immediately. Please ensure that the dropper tip is dry. When administering the drops, avoid the dropper tip coming into contact with your eye or facial skin.
