Tannalbin® contains the natural active ingredient tannin - a natural product obtained from gall apples. Tannalbin® acts specifically on the intestinal wall and thus efficiently stops diarrhoea. Tannalbin is a diarrhoea-reducing preparation made from a substance containing tannic acid and protein. It is particularly suitable for the treatment of summer diarrhoea, when travelling due to unfamiliar food and poor hygiene conditions. Tannalbin rapidly reduces the water content of the stool, thereby improving its firmness and stopping the annoying urge to defecate.

Indications

Supportive treatment of acute non-specific diarrhoea, e.g. summer and traveller's diarrhoea.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 - 4 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

Children 5 - 12 years:

Single dose: 1 tablet
Total daily dose: 4 - 6 times daily 1 tablet

Children from 12 years and adults:

Single dose: 1 - 2 tablets
Total daily dose: 1 - 2 tablets 4 - 6 times a day

Method of administration

The tablets are taken before or with meals with sufficient liquid. If necessary, you can also crush the tablets and mix them with food or drink. The break notch is only used to divide the tablet if you have difficulty swallowing it whole. The effect of Tannalbin® Tablets is supported by diet. In addition to ensuring sufficient fluid intake as already mentioned, a diet rich in slag and strongly flavoured foods should be avoided.

Duration of use

Tannalbin® Tablets should be taken regularly until the diarrhoea has subsided.

Note:

If diarrhoea in children lasts longer than 24 hours or is accompanied by vomiting, a doctor should be consulted. If the diarrhoea does not stop after 3 - 4 days despite taking Tannalbin® Tablets and is accompanied by fever and/or bloody stools, a doctor should be consulted.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: 1 tablet contains 500 mg tannin protein (equivalent to 450-485 mg dry matter)

The other ingredients are: Microcrystalline cellulose (Ph. Eur.), carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A) (Ph. Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide, talc (Ph. Eur.), magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.)"
