Dorithricin® Throat Tablets Classic contain benzocaine as a superficial anaesthetic and the germ-inhibiting and germ-killing substances tyrothricin and benzalkonium chloride. Due to this combination of active ingredients, this medicine is used as a mouth and throat therapeutic agent.

Indications

For the supportive treatment of mild to moderate inflammation of the throat and oral cavity, such as

Sore throat and throat pain with difficulty swallowing
pharyngitis
inflammation of the oral mucosa and gums.

Dorithricin® has proven to be an excellent treatment for sore throats and swallowing problems for decades. It helps quickly and effectively at the same time. With its unique formula of active ingredients, Dorithricin® not only relieves pain quickly, but also combats viruses and bacteria in a targeted manner and stops the infection before the sore throat gets worse.

For severe sore throats or sore throats accompanied by fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, consult a doctor before use. If you do not feel better or even worse after 2 days, consult your doctor.

A sore throat is a sign that the body's defences are weakened and pathogens have been able to penetrate. This causes the mucous membranes in the throat and pharynx to become inflamed and swollen. In particularly severe cases, this can also lead to tonsillitis or laryngitis.

In order to contain the invading pathogens and support the healing process, the use of an effective throat medicine is recommended.

Unique active ingredient formula

Dorithricin® impresses with its unique active ingredient formula. It contains three active ingredients in a medically effective combination:

The local pain-relieving active ingredient benzocaine quickly relieves pain without anaesthetising unnecessarily.
The anti-infective tyrothricin has excellent antibacterial properties and therefore acts reliably against bacterial pathogens. Tyrothricin also has antiviral effects and local immunostimulant properties in combination with the other active ingredients.
The local antiseptic active ingredient benzalkonium chloride optimally complements tyrothricin in its effect.

Throat tablets

Directions for use

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: 1-2 lozenges several times a day (every 2-3 hours). A daily dose of 8 lozenges should not be exceeded.
Children: There are no studies on children under 12 years of age that prove the safety and efficacy of Dorithricin Throat Tablets Classic in this age group. Therefore, no dosage recommendation can be given for children and adolescents aged 6 - 11 years. Use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended, as controlled sucking cannot be guaranteed in this age group. Dorithricin Throat Tablets Classic must not be used in children under 2 years of age (infants and toddlers), as the correct method of application (sucking) is not guaranteed.
Method of application: For use in the oral cavity. Allow Dorithricin Throat Tablets Classic to dissolve slowly in the mouth. Do not allow to dissolve in the cheek pocket and do not bite or swallow. Dorithricin Throat Tablets Classic should not be used shortly before or after brushing your teeth, as their effectiveness is reduced by toothpaste. Treatment with Dorithricin Throat Tablets Classic should be continued for one day after the symptoms have subsided.
Duration of use: If you do not feel better or even worse after 2 days, consult your doctor.
Note for diabetics: The sugar substitute sorbitol contained in 1 lozenge corresponds to approx. 0.07 bread units (BE). Also suitable for diabetics.

What Dorithricin® Throat Tablets Classic contain:

The active ingredients are: 1 lozenge contains: Tyrothricin 0.5 mg, benzalkonium chloride 1.0 mg, benzocaine 1.5 mg.
The other ingredients are: Sorbitol (E 420), talc, sucrose stearate type III, saccharin sodium dihydrate, mint oil, povidone K25, carmellose sodium.
