The active ingredient is flurbiprofen. Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines work by influencing the body's response to pain, swelling and increased temperature.
Strepsils Spray is used for the short-term relief of symptoms of sore throat such as inflammation of the throat lining, pain, difficulty swallowing and swelling in adults aged 18 years and over.
In order to be able to quickly resume the daily routine at work or at home, quick and long-lasting relief from a sore throat is particularly desirable.
Strepsils® Spray Simply spray into the throat for sore throats. Inflammation and pain are relieved quickly and lastingly for up to 6 hours. The special dosing head of the spray bottle enables optimum distribution in the throat. Thanks to its compact pocket size, the spray is practical for travelling. It only takes seconds to apply, making the product ideal for anyone who has to talk a lot at work. Strepsils® Spray can also be used before going to bed without any problems as it is sugar-free and, unlike lozenges, there is no risk of swallowing.
Strepsils® Spray contains the active ingredient flurbiprofen. It not only has an analgesic effect, but also has an anti-inflammatory and therefore decongestant effect.

How to use
The recommended dose is for adults aged 18 and over: If necessary, spray a dose of 3 sprays into the back of the throat every 3-6 hours. Do not use more than 5 doses in a 24-hour period. One dose (3 sprays) contains 8.75 mg flurbiprofen.
Use in children and adolescents: Do not use this medicine in children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
Route of administration: For use in the oral cavity only.
- Only spray into the back of the throat.
- Do not inhale while spraying.
- Do not apply more than 5 doses (15 sprays) in 24 hours.
Duration of use: Strepsils Spray is intended for short-term use only. Use as few doses as possible for as short a period as necessary to relieve your symptoms. If irritation occurs in the mouth, treatment with Flurbiprofen should be discontinued. Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days unless prescribed by your doctor.
Ingredients
- The active substance is: flurbiprofen. One dose (3 sprays) contains 8.75 mg flurbiprofen, which corresponds to 16.2 mg/ml flurbiprofen.
