Silver nitrate etching sticks are used for chemical cauterisation by means of a mixture of silver nitrate and potassium nitrate attached to the head. They have long been described in pharmacopoeias and are used externally in a wide variety of applications.
Proven for the removal of excessive tissue growths (caro luxurians, colloquially known as "wild flesh"), which can occur in healing skin wounds, e.g. surgical cavities with granulation polyps, as well as for the treatment of warts that have been clearly recognised as such. Residues of umbilical cord in newborn babies can also be easily removed with our cautery sticks.
