Psyllium husks are the seeds of the Plantago ovata plant, which is mainly cultivated in India. They have been used since ancient times as a high-fibre food and appetite suppressant. They contain soluble fibre, particularly in the husks, which is able to bind water. This leads to an increase in stool volume. It is therefore advisable to ensure you drink enough fluids when consuming psyllium.

Acacia fibre, also known as gum arabic, comes from the Acacia senegal tree and is also a source of soluble fibre. It is traditionally valued for its prebiotic properties.
Alpha-amylase is an enzyme produced in the salivary glands and the pancreas that aids the digestion of carbohydrates by converting starch into sugar.
Bromelain is extracted from the pineapple (Ananas comosus) and is known for its role in the metabolism of proteins. It consists of a mixture of various enzymes, including proteases, which help to break down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids.
Papain is extracted from the papaya (Carica papaya) and is another enzyme with properties similar to those of bromelain.
The bacterial strains contained play an important role as part of the human gut microbiome. Bifidobacterium lactis L 1038, a naturally occurring gut bacterium, produces acetic acid and lactic acid. Lactobacillus acidophilus L 1903 belongs to the lactic acid bacteria and primarily colonises the digestive and vaginal tracts.
The beetroot included is rich in fibre and contains the polyphenol pigment betanin.
Valuable niacin, in the form of nicotinamide, is considered to be better tolerated and plays an important role in maintaining normal mucous membranes, such as the intestinal mucosa. It is also known for its contribution to normal energy metabolism and the maintenance of normal skin.
The formula is rounded off with vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to support a normal immune system and protect cells from oxidative stress.

Directions for use

Stir 1 heaped measuring spoonful of powder (approx. 10g) into a glass of water daily and drink immediately, followed by plenty of water.
Notes: Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
