What are Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops?

Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost are eye drops that provide a cooling, refreshing effect when used for tired and dry eyes. Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops feature a clinically proven, innovative formula that combats dry patches on the surface of the eye caused by breaks in the tear film. Their TEARSHIELD TECHNOLOGY® restores the natural tear film for long-lasting relief and protection against the symptoms of dry eyes – a condition caused by an insufficient tear film. 

These are clear, cooling, refreshing eye drops for temporary relief from dry, painful, itchy, burning, stinging, gritty, tired or irritated sensations caused by dry eyes . Dry patches in the tear film can be caused by a range of triggers: for example, prolonged screen time on a computer, tablet or mobile phone; the ageing process; hormonal changes (menopause); laser eye surgery; heated rooms; air conditioning; wind, air pollution and certain medicines. 

For reasons of comfort and effectiveness, Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops have been designed to replace natural tears, and their ingredients act on the various layers of the tear film to stabilise it and restore its natural function. This alleviates the unpleasant symptoms and restores normal vision.

What are the functions of Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops?

The tear film consists of a lipid layer and a mucin-water layer. Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops act on all these layers. It has been proven that stabilising the lipid layer effectively prolongs the tear film’s break-up time. Unique ingredients have been selected to mimic the properties of the natural tear film. 

Sesame oil, polyoxyethylene castor oil and polyoxyethylene stearate support the replenishment and stabilisation of the lipid layer, which promotes the stabilisation of the tear fluid and prevents its evaporation. Povidone, propylene glycol and poloxamer act on the mucin-aqueous layer, thereby improving its physiological functions, such as water retention and friction reduction. Menthol provides a cooling, refreshing and invigorating sensation when the eye drops are applied. Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops are free from the preservative benzalkonium chloride.

Directions for use

Rohto® Dry Aid® Fresh Boost eye drops can be used as and when required at any time of the day or night. Use in children under 6 years of age only under adult supervision. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before use.

1. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before use.
2. Twist the cap to open it.
3. Remove the cap.
4. Tilt your head back and look upwards.
5. Gently pull your lower eyelid downwards to create a small gap between your eyelid and your eye.
6. Hold the bottle in your other hand between your thumb and middle finger and apply gentle pressure to the eye-drop bottle so that 1–2 drops fall into the opening.
7. Wipe away any excess liquid around the eyelid with a lint-free cloth.
8. Screw the cap on tightly to seal the bottle

Safety instructions:

• For use in the eye only.
• For adults and children aged 6 years and over. ·If you are under medical supervision, please consult your doctor. 
• Do not use if the transparent plastic packaging of the bottle is damaged or missing when opening the box.
• Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
• Remove contact lenses before use.
• After using the drops, wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before putting your contact lenses back in.
• Do not share this product with anyone else.
• If you experience any irritation or other adverse effects, seek medical advice.
• Do not swallow the solution.
• Allow at least 5 to 10 minutes to pass before using any other eye products.
• Avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and your eyelids, eyes or other surfaces.
• If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
