Prosicca eye drops, 10 ML

The hypromellose contained in Prosicca increases the viscosity of the tear fluid and reduces the surface tension. The solution remains on the eye and provides the cornea with good protection against eye irritation of non-infectious origin. Instilled into the conjunctival sac, the solution spreads rapidly over the entire surface of the eye and forms a thin, transparent film that adheres well to the cornea and conjunctiva of the eye and ensures adequate moisturisation.

Indications.

• For the symptomatic treatment of signs of dehydration of the cornea and conjunctiva ("dry eye") due to tear secretion and dysfunction as a result of local or systemic diseases, as well as in cases of insufficient or incomplete closure of the eyelids.

• Irritation of the eye caused by non-inflammatory stimuli, e.g. caused by fitting hard contact lenses
• For wetting and rewetting soft and hard contact lenses

Directions for use

• Adults: instil 1 drop 3-5 times a day into the conjunctival sac of the diseased eye. To avoid contamination of the dropper tip and the solution, care must be taken to ensure that the eyelids and surrounding areas of the eye or other surfaces are not touched with the dropper tip of the bottle. If other eye drops or eye ointments are used, at least 15 minutes should then elapse before PROSICCA eye drops are finally dripped into the eye so that the dwell time and thus the moisturising effect is not shortened.
• Children and adolescents (up to 18 years): No data are available for this age group. Your doctor will advise you or your child on a suitable therapy.
• Contact lens wearers: Please be sure to observe the instructions for use in the section "Special care is required when using PROSICCA eye drops".

Method of application:

• For application to the eye. For instillation into the conjunctival sac of the diseased eye.

Duration of use:

• If the symptoms persist or if the expected success of the application is not achieved, a medical consultation is required as soon as possible. An ophthalmologist should always be consulted for the treatment of dry eye, which is usually a long-term or permanent therapy. Rewetting of hard contact lenses with PROSICCA eye drops can be carried out without limiting the duration of use, provided that Prosicca eye drops are well tolerated.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (hypromellose). 1 ml contains 5.0 mg hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (hypromellose) 1 drop corresponds to approx. 0.03 ml.
