- Stabilisation of the cell membrane: Silymarin binds to receptors on the liver cell membrane and thus prevents the accumulation and penetration of toxic substances
- Neutralisation of free radicals: In addition to stabilising the membrane, the synthesis of the enzyme superoxide dismutase is stimulated. This enzyme catalyses the conversion of superoxide anions to hydrogen peroxide, thus providing a certain degree of oxidative cell protection.
- Stimulation of regeneration: Stimulation of nucleolar polymerase stimulates ribosomal protein synthesis and thus accelerates the regeneration of damaged liver cells and induces the formation of new hepatocytes.
- Anti-inflammatory effect: Silymarin also inhibits cyclooxygenase and thus the conversion of arachidonic acid into pro-inflammatory prostaglandins.

Directions for use
- Feeding recommendation: 1 measuring spoon (approx. 0.5 g) per 5 kg body weight per day.
- Recommended feeding period: Initially 6 months. Offer water for free intake. It is recommended to seek the advice of a vet before feeding or extending the feeding period.
