Otrivin® Duo 0.5 mg/ml + 0.6 mg/ml nasal spray, 10 ML

Otrivin® Duo Nasal Spray is an over-the-counter combination medicine consisting of two different active ingredients. One of the active ingredients helps against a runny nose, while the other has a decongestant effect.

How does Otrivin Duo differ from the other Otrivin products?

Otrivin Duo contains two active ingredients: xylometazoline hydrochloride and ipratropium bromide. Xylometazoline is the tried and tested active ingredient in the Otrivin® range, which reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa. This allows those suffering from a cold to breathe better again.

Otrivin Duo also contains ipratropium bromide, which stops the runny nose. This means you don't need mountains of tissues when you have a cold and you no longer have a sore, aching nose caused by blowing your nose.

Directions for use

Adults: Spray one puff into each nostril as required, up to 3 times a day for a maximum of 7 days. Keep an interval of at least 6 hours between two applications. Do not apply more than three sprays per day in each nostril. Do not exceed the specified dose. Use the lowest dose required to treat symptoms and apply Otrivin Duo for as short a time as possible to achieve the desired effect.

Duration of use: Do not use this medicine for more than 7 days. As soon as your symptoms improve, it is recommended that you stop treatment with Otrivin Duo, even if this is after less than 7 days, to minimise the risk of side effects. If the symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days, consult a doctor. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you think that the effect of Otrivin Duo is too strong or too weak for you.

Method of application:

Vertical pump to be operated with two fingers:

• Always blow your nose before using the nasal spray.
• Remove the protective cap.
• Do not cut off the tip. The dosing spray is ready to use.
• Before the first application, the pump must be filled by pumping 4 times. Once filled, the pump generally remains ready for use with regular daily use. If the spray does not spray completely during the entire spraying process, or if the medicine has not been used for more than 6 days, the pump must be refilled with 4 pumping processes as at the beginning.

1. Blow your nose thoroughly before use.
2. Hold the bottle upright with your thumb under the base and the spray head between two fingers.
3. Tilt your head slightly forwards and insert the spray head into one nostril.
4. Press the pump to spray once and inhale gently through your nose at the same time.
5. Repeat this process (steps 1 - 4) in the other nostril.
6. Clean and dry the spray head after each use before replacing the protective cap on the bottle.

Pump can be operated from the side with the thumb:

Remove the cap.

Before first use: Fill the pump by pumping five times. Once filled, the pump generally remains ready for use with regular daily use.

1. Blow nose thoroughly before use.
2. Hold the bottle upright with your thumb on the operating button.
3. To prevent dripping, hold upright and insert the spray head into one nostril.
4. Press the pump to spray once and inhale gently through your nose at the same time. Repeat this process (steps 2 - 4) in the other nostril.
5. Clean and dry the spray head after each use.
6. Replace the protective cap until you hear a "click".

Notes: If the spray does not spray completely during the entire spraying process, or if the medicine has not been used for more than 7 days, the pump must be refilled with 2 pumping processes. If the entire spray is not administered, the dose should not be repeated. To avoid infection, the spray may only be used by one and the same person. Do not spray Otrivin Duo in or around the eyes. Ingredients

• The active ingredients are: Xylometazoline hydrochloride and ipratropium bromide.
• 1 ml contains 0.5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 0.6 mg ipratropium bromide.
• 1 spray contains 70 micrograms of xylometazoline hydrochloride and 84 micrograms ofipratropium bromide .
• The other ingredients are sodium edetate, glycerol (85%), purified water,sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid.
