Otrivin® 0.1% nasal gel, 10 G

Otrivin® 0.1 % - Nasal Gel is used for various types of rhinitis in adolescents aged 12 and over and adults. The gel is particularly suitable for dry noses to moisturise the nose and restore nasal breathing.

Otrivin contains the active ingredient xylometazoline. It quickly relieves nasal congestion and facilitates the drainage of secretions, allowing you to breathe freely through your nose. Otrivin is used to treat nasal congestion caused by colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis or sinusitis.

The effect of Otrivin starts within 2 minutes and lasts for up to 12 hours. When used in the nose, Otrivin also helps to reduce swelling of the mucous membranes in the nasopharynx in cases of middle ear inflammation. Otrivin 0.1 % nasal gel is also particularly suitable for relieving nasal breathing during the night. Otrivin 0.1 % - Nasal Gel is therefore also particularly suitable for the treatment of rhinitis with crust formation.

How to use

• Adolescents from the age of 12 and adults: Insert one drop of gel as deeply as possible into each nostril once, but no more than three times a day. Last application in the evening, generally shortly before going to bed. In general, an interval of at least 8 hours should be maintained between two applications. In adolescents up to 14 years of age, use should be supervised by parents or adults.
• Use in children and adolescents: Otrivin 0.1 % - Nasal Gel must not be used in newborns, infants, small children and children under 12 years of age.
• Duration of use: Otrivin 0.1 % - Nasal Gel must not be used for longer than 7 days unless prescribed by a doctor. After 1 week of treatment, a break of several days must be taken.
• Method of application: For nasal application. Clean the nose thoroughly before use (blow your nose). Then tilt your head back and insert the gel into one nostril; close the other nostril with your finger and inhale quickly with your mouth closed. Repeat the process in the other nostril. For reasons of hygiene and to avoid infection, it should be noted that each dosing unit may only be used by one person at a time.

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is: xylometazoline hydrochloride. 1 g gel contains 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.
• The other ingredients are: Benzalkonium chloride, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, hypromellose [4000 cps], flavouring, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, sodium edetate dihydrate, sorbitol solution 70 %, purified water. 1 drop = approx. 30 mg gel.
