Ökopharm44 alkaline pH test strips are used to check the acid-base balance. For checking the urine pH as part of the diet.
The acid value of the urine can be determined with alkaline pH test strips from the pharmacy. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the current acid load of the diet. As the kidneys are also affected by the acid load, this organ should be protected by drinking plenty of fluids. 2-2.5 litres a day of water and tea are ideal for this.

How to use
- Collect the morning urine in a clean cup. Remove the test strips and dip all test fields into the urine for 1 second, pull out and shake off excess liquid. Compare the colour of the test fields with the colour scale within 2 minutes.
- Read off the corresponding value (pH < 7: acidic; pH = 7: neutral; pH > 7: alkaline; reading accuracy +/- 0.2 pH;)
- Dispose of used test strips. To determine changes in the pH value, the test should be carried out daily over a longer period of time. Nutritional behaviour can influence the result. Seek expert advice for evaluation.
