Nurofen® Rapid 400 mg soft capsules are a medicine containing ibuprofen. They offer rapid relief from pain such as headaches. Nurofen – Targets the pain. Works precisely.

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (non-steroidal analgesics/anti-rheumatic drugs (NSAIDs)). These medicines provide relief by altering the way the body reacts to pain and fever.

Nurofen Rapid 400 mg soft capsules are used in adults and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (aged 12 years and over) for the short-term symptomatic treatment of:

• mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, period pain and toothache
• fever and pain associated with colds.

If you do not feel better, or if your condition worsens, after the following number of days, consult your doctor: o for adolescents, after 3 days o for adults, if you have a fever, after 3 days, and after 4 days if taking the medicine for pain

Nurofen® Rapid 400mg Soft Capsules are soft capsules that are easy to swallow. They contain ibuprofen in dissolved form, so that the active ingredient is rapidly absorbed by the body and pain is effectively relieved. The soft capsules are specifically used to relieve pain such as headaches. The optimal dosage of Nurofen® Rapid 400mg soft capsules provides pain relief for up to 6 hours.

Directions for use

Adults and children and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more (aged 12 years and over): Initial dose: one capsule with water. Thereafter, one capsule every six hours as required. No more than three capsules (1200 mg) should be taken within a 24-hour period. If adolescents need to take this medicine for more than 3 days, or if their symptoms worsen, they should consult a doctor. If adults need to take this medicine for more than 3 days to treat a fever , or for more than 4 days to treat pain , or if symptoms worsen, they are advised to consult a doctor. It is recommended that patients with a sensitive stomach takeNurofen Rapid with food .

Method of administration: For oral use. Do not chew the capsules. It is recommended that patients with a sensitive stomach take Nurofen Rapid with food. If taken shortly after a meal, the onset of action of Nurofen Rapid may be delayed.

Duration of use:

• This medicine is intended for short-term treatment only. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen.
• Use in adolescents: A doctor should be consulted if Nurofen is required for more than 3 days in adolescents or if symptoms worsen.
• For adults: Consult your doctor if you need to take Nurofen Rapid for more than 3 days to treat a fever, or for more than 4 days to treat pain, or if your symptoms worsen. 8 Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of this medicine is stronger or weaker than you expected.
