Normhydral is used to treat acute diarrhoea with and without vomiting in adolescents and adults.
Normhydral® is a combination of electrolytes and dextrose (glucose) formulated according to international recommendations to compensate for the loss of electrolytes and fluids caused by diarrhoea and vomiting.
The ready-to-use drinking solution (500ml) replenishes the body with the important electrolytes sodium and potassium.
- Dextrose improves sodium absorption, which also increases the necessary water intake.
- Citrate prevents possible acidification of the blood in the event of diarrhoea.

Ingredients
- The active ingredients are: 10.00 g anhydrous glucose, 0.875 g sodium chloride, 1.475 gsodium citrate, 0.75 g potassium chloride.
- The other ingredient is: silicon dioxide.
- The ready-to-drink solution contains: 111 mmol/l glucose, 60 mmol/l sodium, 20 mmol/l potassium,10 mmol/l citrate, 50 mmol/l chloride.
