Nicotinamide is a special form of vitamin B3 (niacin), namely the so-called amide of niacin. Niacin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes. Nicotinamide is generally better tolerated than niacin. Vitamin B3 is found naturally in some foods, such as meat and poultry, eggs, brewer's yeast, pulses, nuts and avocados.
