Light therapy is a clinically proven anti-acne treatment that has been used in dermatological practices for years. The rays of red and blue light gently penetrate the skin. The blue light fights acne-causing bacteria, while the red light reduces inflammation.

The stick is suitable for mild to moderate acne on the face. It is not recommended for severe acne as the effect has not been proven.

For best results, use the Anti-Acne Light Therapy Stick 3 times a day for 2 minutes.

How does light therapy work?

Scientifically proven:

The rays of the anti-acne light therapy stick gently penetrate the skin. The blue light combats acne-causing bacteria, while the red light reduces inflammation.
In this way, acne can be treated gently and the acne cycle interrupted.

Application

To achieve optimum results, you should apply the anti-acne light therapy stick to each treatment area 3 times a day for 2 minutes and never skip an application. This can easily be integrated into your daily cleansing ritual or done on the go. Just follow these simple steps.

Before using the Anti-Acne Light Therapy Stick for the first time, remove the peel-off tab on the back of the device.
Wash your face - e.g. with an anti-pimple cleanser - and dry it.
Place the upper end of the device on the area of your face that you want to treat - so that the upper end of the device touches your skin.
Press and hold the power button until the device beeps once to start the treatment. Each treatment lasts 2 minutes.
The Neutrogena® Anti-Acne Light Therapy Stick will switch off automatically after 2 minutes. The device will beep twice to let you know that the treatment is finished.
After use, the face can be cared for as usual with a face cream - e.g. with the Anti-Pimple Daily Moisturiser.

Change the battery

If the light on the device flickers or the device beeps three times after you have pressed and held the power button for 1 second, the battery in your device is almost empty. Loosen the screw on the battery cover, slide the handle back and replace the AAA battery. Reassemble the device and ensure that the battery cover and screw are firmly in place and secured before using the device again. Please follow the local guidelines for the disposal of battery-operated devices.

Precautions and warnings

Avoid getting water or liquids into any part of the device as this could cause the device to fail to switch on.

Do not store near heat or hot surfaces.

This device is only suitable for use by one patient. Do not share the device with other people.

Discontinue use if you feel unwell or if skin redness or discolouration persists for more than 24 hours.

Do not use the device if you are sensitive to light or if you are currently taking medication that can cause photosensitivity of the skin.

Do not shine the device in your eyes.

Do not put the device in your mouth.

Keep the device out of the reach of children.

Warning: Do not use the anti-acne light therapy stick if you are pregnant, may be pregnant or breastfeeding, as the associated risks are unknown and unproven.
