Mexaratio 200 mg/5 ml syrup is a medicine containing paracetamol, an active ingredient that relieves pain and reduces fever. It is taken for fever and pain, such as period pain, headaches or toothache.

Mexaratio 200 mg/5 ml syrup is used for:

Mild to moderate pain (such as headaches, toothache, period pain)
Fever and pain associated with colds and flu-like infections

If you do not feel any better, or if your condition worsens, after 3 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

The individual dose can be calculated as follows: 10–15 mg of paracetamol per kg of body weight, up to 4 times a day.

This generally results in the following dosage:

Children aged 2 years and over:

2–5 years (13 to 18 kg): 5 ml of syrup (equivalent to 200 mg of paracetamol) up to a maximum of 4 times a day
5–8 years (19 to 25 kg): 7.5 ml of syrup (equivalent to 300 mg of paracetamol) up to a maximum of 4 times a day
8–11 years (26–42 kg): 10 ml of syrup (equivalent to 400 mg of paracetamol) up to a maximum of 4 times a day

This medicine must only be given to children under 3 years of age on medical advice.

Children under 2 years of age: Mexalen 200 mg/5 ml syrup is not suitable for children under 2 years of age due to its high active ingredient content. Mexalen is available for them in a different dosage form with a suitable active ingredient content. Please seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist on this matter.

Young people aged 12 years and over and adults (weighing 43 kg or more): Up to a maximum of 12.5 ml of syrup (equivalent to 500 mg of paracetamol) up to 4 times a day; the maximum daily dose of 50 ml of syrup (equivalent to 2000 mg of paracetamol) must not be exceeded.

Method of administration: For oral use. Take the syrup using the measuring cup provided, in accordance with the dosage instructions, regardless of mealtimes. There should be an interval of at least 6 hours between doses.

Duration of use: The duration of use should be limited to the duration of the illness. If symptoms persist for longer than 3 days, a doctor must be consulted.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: paracetamol 5 ml of syrup contains 200 mg of paracetamol.
The other ingredients are: Macrogol 400, glycerol 85%, sodium saccharin, sodium disulphite (E 223), citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, acesulfame potassium, orange flavouring, purified water.
