- Rhodiola rosea, known in German as Rosenwurz (also Golden Root or Rosenroot), owes its name to its intense scent of roses. Rhodiola rosea is a hardy high-altitude plant (growing at altitudes of up to 4,500 metres) and belongs to the Crassulaceae family. The plant is found across the mountainous regions of Asia, Siberia and North America, as well as in the Alps and the Pyrenees.
- There are over 200 different species of Rhodiola, although only Rhodiola rosea possesses properties of note. The extract is obtained from the plant’s roots. The standardisation of its active constituents is of great importance. The relevant parameters here are rosavin and salidroside.
- We use certified Rhodiola rosea extract sourced from the wild in the Altai Mountains, which lie in the border region between Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China.
