Natural effect on cholesterol

• Due to its outstanding binding capacity, Luvos® healing clay can bind micro-fine substances such as cholesterol and other fats from food, thus reducing their absorption via the digestive tract. The bound substances are excreted in the faeces.
• An elevated cholesterol level is considered a significant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Cholesterol can accumulate on the walls of arteries and form deposits (so-called plaques). These deposits can cause a narrowing of the arteries, which slows down or blocks the flow of blood to vital organs such as the heart and brain. These blockages can lead to a heart attack or stroke. The average intake of cholesterol in our diet significantly exceeds the German Nutrition Society (DGE) guideline of 300 mg per day. Studies show that 10 g of Luvos® healing clay can bind 178 mg of cholesterol in the stomach environment - more than half of the DGE guideline value.
• Luvos® healing clay can be taken in addition to statins. These belong to a class of drugs that lower the body's own cholesterol.
