Livostin® eye drops, 4 ML

Livostin eye drops contain levocabastine, a fast-acting antihistamine (blocks the body's own messenger substance histamine, which is responsible for allergic reactions). The relatively long-lasting effectiveness is responsible for the fact that twice daily application is sufficient. The typical symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis disappear almost immediately after application and the effect lasts for several hours.

• Symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis (itching, redness, swelling of the conjunctiva and eyelids, tearing of the eyes).

How to use

Dosage:

• Adults, adolescents and children aged 8 years and over: 1 drop of Livostin eye drops per eye, twice daily. If the clinical picture is very pronounced, use up to 3-4 times a day.
• Children under 8 years of age: The efficacy and safety of Livostin eye drops have not been proven in children under 8 years of age. It is therefore not recommended for use in this age group.

Route of administration:

For application to the eye. Instil into the conjunctival sac.

1. Wash hands thoroughly before use.
2. Avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and the eye or eyelid to prevent contamination of the remaining liquid.
3. Shake the bottle well before removing the screw cap.
4. Tilt your head back as far as possible.
5. Squeeze the bottle and carefully drip a drop into the inner corner of the eye. Keep your head tilted back and pull the lower eyelid down so that the drop can reach the lower part of the eye. You will automatically blink, spreading the drop over the entire eye.
6. Repeat this process for the other eye.

Duration of treatment:

The optimal and successful treatment of allergic diseases requires both an initial diagnosis and regular check-ups by the doctor.

Livostin eye drops should therefore not be used for longer than 2 weeks without a doctor's prescription. If the symptoms have not been sufficiently alleviated after this time, a doctor should be consulted to clarify the exact cause. However, if the symptoms worsen or remain the same, a doctor should be consulted after three days at the latest. Livostin eye drops can also be used for longer than 2 weeks if prescribed by a doctor. In this case, it should not be used for longer than 3 months if used regularly.

Ingredients

The active substance is: levocabastine hydrochloride. 1 ml contains levocabastine hydrochloride corresponding to 0.5 mg levocabastine. 1 drop contains approximately 0.015 mg levocabastine (1 ml = 33 drops). The other ingredients are: Benzalkonium chloride, propylene glycol, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, hypromellose, polysorbate 80, disodium edetate, water for injection.
