How to use
- The recommended dose for the treatment of short-term diarrhoea is - Adolescents aged 12 years and over: First dose 1 orodispersible tablet. Repeat dose: 1 orodispersible tablet after each loose stool, at the earliest 1 hour after the first dose. Maximum daily dose: 4 orodispersible tablets.
- The recommended dose for the treatment of short-term diarrhoea is - Adults: first dose 2 orodispersible tablets. Repeat dose: 1 orodispersible tablet after each unformed stool. At the earliest 1 hour after the first dose. Maximum daily dose: 6 orodispersible tablets.
- Advice: The maximum daily dose must not be exceeded. Do not take if diarrhoea lasts longer than 2 days. Replace fluid losses by drinking more than usual.
- Method of administration: To remove the orodispersible tablet, peel off the film on the back of the blister and tip the orodispersible tablet out of the blister. Do not push the melting tablet through the blister. Place the appropriate number of orodispersible tablets on the tongue. The melting tablets dissolve immediately. You do not need water to take them. Do not chew. For oral use only. Do not take more orodispersible tablets than indicated in the table. Not for long-term use.
- Duration of use: You can use this medicine for up to 48 hours. If the diarrhoea lasts longer than 48 hours, or if you suffer from repeated diarrhoea or if your symptoms change, stop taking Lingumelt and talk to your doctor.
Ingredients
- The active substance is: loperamide hydrochloride. 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride is contained in one orally disintegrating tablet.
- The other ingredients are: pullulan (E1204), mannitol (E421), sodium bicarbonate (E500), aspartame (E951), polysorbate 80 (E433), peppermint flavouring (maize maltodextrin, flavourings and modified waxy maize starch, E1450).
