Idroflog® eye drops multidose - solution for application to the eye, 10 ml

Idroflog® eye drops contain a solution for application to the eye with sodium hyaluronate and hydrocortisone sodium phosphate. It stabilises the tear film, helps with dry eyes and counteracts eye inflammation thanks to the hydrocortisone.

What is Idroflog® and what is it used for?

• Idroflog® is an ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate which, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties, spreads evenly over the surface of the eye and forms a viscoelastic protective film. In this way, Idroflog® stabilises the tear film through its mechanical action ("barrier effect") and reduces the friction caused by eye movements and blinking.
• It protects the ocular surface by promoting the healing processes of damage to the corneal epithelial cells caused by reduced tear production, because when the glands that produce the tear film - for various reasons - reduce their normal activity, the corneal surface is more exposed to external influences.
• Over time, these influences lead to a malfunction of the corneal cells and the associated risk of unpleasant inflammation. Idroflog® protects the corneal surface from external influences and, thanks to the additional effect of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (a low-dose cortisone with a weak anti-inflammatory effect and short duration of action), helps to prevent the risk of inflammation recurring. Idroflog® may only be used for a limited period of time and in any case only under medical supervision.
• Due to its special saline composition, Idroflog® restores the concentrations of important ions such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, which are essential for the health of the ocular surface, and maintains them at physiological levels. This medical device contains no preservatives.

How to use

1. Open the bottle by removing the protective tab. Remove the cap, squeeze the upturned bottle and allow 1-2 drops of Idroflog® to drip into the conjunctival sac from above. Always close the bottle with the cap after use. Do not damage or disassemble the bottle and do not mechanically block the hole in the dropper. Idroflog® can also be used while wearing contact lenses.
2. Idroflog® should be dosed individually according to your condition and as recommended by your ophthalmologist. Generally, 1-2 drops of the solution are instilled into the conjunctival sac of the eye to be treated 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months, but must be determined by and under the direct supervision of your ophthalmologist (a check-up every 30-45 days is recommended).
3. Precautions for use: Idroflog® is intended for external use only. IDROFLOG should not be applied immediately before the application of medicines for therapeutic purposes and not within twenty minutes after the application of other topical medicines. If you notice a worsening of your eye symptoms during treatment, contact your doctor immediately. Prolonged use may cause problems: The total duration of treatment should be determined by your ophthalmologist. If an inflammatory process is already present, the specialist will decide on an appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy to restore the physiological state of the ocular surface. To minimise the risk of contamination, each bottle should only be used by one person. Wash your hands carefully before use. Ensure that the tip of the dropper does not come into contact with your fingers, eye, contact lens or any other surface. Also avoid contact with dirt or dust.
