Ichtholan® 10 % ointment, 40 G

Ichtholan® 10% ointment is an over-the-counter medicine containing an active ingredient from the group of sulphonated shale oils. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and stimulates blood circulation.

Ichtholan® 10% ointment is used to treat superficial inflammatory skin conditions.

These painful inflammations are triggered by genetic predisposition, hormonal imbalances, stress, and intolerances or allergies to cosmetics. Without targeted treatment, there is a risk that the inflammation will spread and the pain will increase.

ICHTHOLAN® 10% ointment (contains ammonium bituminosulphonate, the well-known active ingredient of natural origin):

Directions for use

• Apply a layer of Ichtholan® 10% ointment about as thick as the back of a knife to the affected area of skin and cover it with a dressing. The dressing should be changed daily. Each time the dressing is changed, any ointment residue remaining on the skin must first be washed off before a new dressing is applied.
• Method of use: For use on the skin. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, ICHTHOLAN® 10% ointment should be applied thinly to the inflamed areas of skin and spread evenly. The treating doctor will decide whether to apply a thick layer and cover it with a dressing.
• Duration of use: Treatment may be continued until the skin inflammation has subsided. If the inflammation worsens, consult your doctor. The frequency of application of ICHTHOLAN 10% ointment depends on the nature and severity of the condition, as well as on the skin’s reaction.

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is ammonium bituminosulphonate (Ichthyol®).
• 1 g of ointment contains 0.1 g of ammonium bituminosulphonate (Ichthyol®).
• The other ingredients are: yellow petrolatum, lanolin, purified water.
