Product information "Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % eye drops"
Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % is a sterile, phosphate-free and medium-viscosity wetting agent in the innovative SafeDrop® system, a preservative-free multi-dose container co-developed by OmniVision. It can be optimally applied with the help of the practical wide finger rest. Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % contains hyaluronic acid and is used for improved and long-lasting moisturisation of the ocular surface. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that also occurs in the structures of the human eye and in the tear film, making it particularly well tolerated. It is characterised by a high water-binding capacity, adheres well to the surface of the eye (mucoadhesive properties) and is viscoelastic.
Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % therefore moisturises, moistens and protects the surface of the eye and ensures an even, stable and particularly long-lasting film of moisture on the surface of the eye. Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % is very suitable for burning, watery eyes and a gritty sensation. It provides long-lasting relief from feelings of dryness and discomfort caused by the environment.
Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % is well suited for wetting contact lenses. This significantly improves the wearing comfort of contact lenses.
Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % can be used for the following indications:
- for dry eyes caused, for example, by Sjögren's syndrome or the use of medication
- environmental stress, e.g. caused by air conditioning, wind, cold, dryness or air pollution, for example from cigarette smoke
- fatigue and visual stress caused by intensive viewing, e.g. at computer screens, microscopes or long car journeys
- mechanical strain, e.g. from wearing hard or soft contact lenses or diagnostic eye surgery.
Dosage form
Eye drops
How to use
For external use only.
- Please document the expiry date in the space provided on the bottle label before the first application. Remove the protective cap before each application.
- Before using the SafeDrop® bottle for the first time, please apply several pressure movements until the first drop is produced. Hold the bottle upside down as shown in the illustration. Please avoid any contact of the dropper tip with your fingers and eyes.
- Hold the bottle as shown in the picture. Make sure that your thumb is resting on the wide, non-slip, round finger rest.
- Now lean your head back slightly (neck position) and pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye with your free hand. Instil one to two drops of Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % into the conjunctival sac of each eye by pressing the pump mechanism once or twice. Make sure that the bottle is held vertically. Close your eyes slowly so that Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % can spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
Alternatively, if the drops are used in conjunction with contact lenses, apply one to two drops to each contact lens before inserting them into your eyes instead of placing the drops directly into your eyes.
Hylo-Vision® SafeDrop® 0.1 % can also be dripped while wearing contact lenses.
After use, close the multi-dose container with the protective cap.
