- A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle remain very important even after your pregnancy and the birth, to help you regain your strength and cope with the new challenges, particularly if you decide to breastfeed your baby. Breastfeeding helps you to form a close bond with your baby and also provides them with essential nutrients.
- If you are breastfeeding, your body will produce around 300–500 ml of breast milk per day during the first week. Depending on your baby’s needs, this can increase to 600–700 ml of breast milk per day.
- The amount of milk your body produces, its composition and its nutrient content are also influenced by your lifestyle and diet. Furthermore, breastfeeding your baby increases your energy requirements and your need for certain micronutrients.
- Femibion® 3 Breastfeeding provides you with selected nutrients that can support you during this special time, as a supplement to a balanced, varied diet. It contains folate, vitamins D and A, iron, calcium, choline, lutein and other nutrients (iodine, selenium, zinc, vitamins C, B and E). Iron helps reduce tiredness. Calcium helps maintain normal bones and muscle function.
- Femibion® 3 Breastfeeding contains the omega-3 fatty acid DHA and lutein in a separate capsule. Lutein gives the capsule its characteristic red colour. Femibion® 3 Breastfeeding is lactose- and gluten-free, and contains no beef or pork gelatine.
- FOLIC ACID isa synthetically produced B vitamin that the body converts into bioactive folate. Folate contributes to normal blood formation and cell division.
- METAFOLIN® is a premium form of folic acid that can be utilised by almost all women.
- CALCIUM contributesto normal bone and muscle function.
- LUTEIN isa carotenoid found in various plants, including many vegetables and fruits. It gives the capsule its characteristic colour.
- CHOLINE contributesto normal homocysteine metabolism. Your choline requirements are increased whilst breastfeeding.
- DHA isshort for docosahexaenoic acid. This important, polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid contributes to the normal development of your breastfed baby’s brain and eyes.*
- IODINE contributesto the normal production of thyroid hormones and to normal thyroid function.
