Folic acid: what is it?

Folic acid is a vitamin that our body cannot produce itself. It must therefore be ingested in sufficient quantities through food. It plays an important role in the development of the unborn child, especially during pregnancy. Sources of folic acid in vegetarian and vegan diets include asparagus, broccoli, nuts and wholemeal products.

Folic acid: how much you need

Unfortunately, folic acid is often only contained in small amounts in our food. One food alone hardly provides a sufficient amount of this vitamin. To get the required 400 micrograms of folic acid daily, you would have to eat more than 60 slices of wholemeal bread a day. The vitamin folic acid is also very sensitive to heat. Therefore, vegetables containing folic acid, for example, should be prepared as gently as possible.

The folic acid capsules contain four important ingredients: folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin D3 and iodine.
With 400 micrograms of folic acid, our capsules provide the ideal amount for this phase of pregnancy. With the ingredients of just one mini capsule per day, the (expectant) mother is optimally supplied.

Ingredients: Rice flour, coating agent hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, MCT oil (MCT = medium-chain triglycerides), vitamin D3, pteroylglutamic acid, sodium iodide, methylcobalamin.
Composition per daily dose (1 capsule) %NRV*: Folic acid 400 µg 200%, iodine 150 µg 100%, vitamin B12 5 µg 200%, vitamin D3 5 µg 100%. *% of the reference amounts for daily intake.
