Hylak® forte drops, 30 ML

Hylak forte contains the metabolic products of the naturalintestinal bacteria Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Escherichia coli and Streptococcusfaecalis in aseptic, concentrated form.

In a healthy intestine, especially in certain sections of the intestine (ileum, colon and rectum), various natural bacteria such as Lactobacillus (lactic acid producer), Escherichia coli and Streptococcus faecalis are found (so-called physiological intestinal flora). The task of these microorganisms is to participate in the biological digestion of food and thus support digestion.

On the other hand, the intestinal microorganisms impair thegrowth conditions for pathogens , e.g. by producing lactic acid,inhibit the production of harmful metabolic products of the bacteria and prevent them from entering the body.The intestinal bacteria also play a role in the production of vitamins (vitamin B6, B12 and K).

External influences, such as antibiotic or radiation treatment, certain stomach operations(Billroth II), but also as a result of poor and unusual eating and nutritional behaviour, can severely disrupt the necessary natural bacterial colonisation in the intestine and, under certain circumstances, lead to an overgrowth of pathogens. The resulting symptoms, such as bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea or constipation , characterise the disturbed biological balance of the naturally occurring intestinal germs . General states of exhaustion, a significant increase in susceptibility to infections and certainskin diseases, such as acne and eczema, canalsobe linked to damage to the intestinal flora.

In order to exist, bacteria require a certain living environment with precisely balancedacidity levels in the gastrointestinal tract . The biosynthetic lactic acid contained in Hylak forte helps to adjust these acidity levels, thus favourably influencing the digestive process (e.g. in the absence of hydrochloric acid in gastric juice and digestive disorders due to fermentation or putrefaction processes) anddepriving pathogens of their basis for life.

By supplying the metabolic products of natural intestinal bacteria contained in Hylak forte, thenormal functions of the intestinal mucosa can bemaintained, thus favouring the recolonisation of intestinal bacteria.

Hylak forte is used for

• general digestive complaints, such as flatulence, diarrhoea, constipation;
• during and after antibiotic, sulphonamide and radiotherapy treatment;
• disorders of the liver metabolism;
• gastrointestinal complaints caused by acid deficiency;
• chronic atrophic gastrointestinal inflammation ("senile intestine")
• Gastrointestinal disorders caused by climate change (especially when travelling towarmer countries);
• symptoms caused by chronic poisoning from the intestines, such asnausea, circulatory disorders, easy fatigue, etc;
• chronic allergic skin diseases such as inflammatory rashes (eczema) orhives (urticaria).

Other information:

The use of this medicinal product is of a supportive nature only and shouldonly be used in addition to other effective therapeutic measures in the event of illness. Hylak forte does not replace the necessary treatment for fluid replacement or other measures such as temporarily abstaining from solid food ("tea break") , particularly in the case of diarrhoea .

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents from the age of 12: initially 40 - 60 drops 3 times daily.
• Children from the age of 2: initially 20 - 40 drops 3 times daily.

After the acute symptoms have subsided, the dose can be reduced by half.

For people with known increased stomach acid production and frequent heartburn associated with this, it is advisable to divide the daily dose into more than 3 single doses.

Method of application:

• Shake bottle before use.
• Take the drops in a little liquid (e.g. water, tea, orange juice, but not in milk) before or during meals .
• The duration of use of Hylak forte is generally not limited.

aqueous substrate of the metabolic products of the naturalintestinal bacteria Escherichia coli DSM 4087,Streptococcus faecalis DSM 4086, Lactobacillus acidophilus DSM 4149, as well as aqueous concentrate of the metabolic products of the natural intestinal bacteria Lactobacillus helveticus DSM 4183

1 ml solution contains aqueous substrate of the metabolic products of the natural intestinal bacteria

Escherichia coli DSM 4087 249.481 mg, Streptococcus faecalis DSM 4086 124.741 mg, Lactobacillus acidophilus DSM 4149 124.741 mg, as well as aqueous concentrate of the metabolic products from the natural intestinal germs: Lactobacillus helveticus DSM 4183 498.960 mg.

1 ml solution corresponds to the biosynthetic active substances of 100 million germs.

1 drop corresponds to 0.05 ml solution.

The other ingredients are: sodium monohydrogen phosphate x 7 H2O, potassium monohydrogen phosphate, lactic acid 90%, phosphoric acid 85%, potassium sorbate, citric acid monohydrate, lactose (milk sugar).
