The function of potassium iodide The iodine complex in Hyiodine® protects the wound from bacterial infection and at the same time prevents the breakdown of hyaluronic acid by bacterial enzymes. Indications Hyiodine® is used in particular to support the healing of chronic wounds or wounds that are difficult to heal, but is also frequently used to treat acute wounds. The preparation accelerates the healing process and prevents infections. Hyiodine® can be used to treat wounds with varying degrees of exudation as well as wound cavities and fistulas. Application

For small wounds or narrow fistulas, Hyiodine® can be applied directly into the wound using a sterile syringe. For wounds larger than 4 cm2 , it is recommended to soak a wound dressing (gauze, textile composites, alginate) in Hyiodine®. Method of application: 1. pierce the vial cap with the spike provided and attach a sterile syringe. 2. draw the required amount of gel into the syringe (approx. 1 ml per 10 cm2 wound). 3. apply directly to the wound or sterile gauze. Do not apply to black necrotic tissue. 4. Cover with a suitable secondary dressing. 5. Wrap infected wounds every 24 hours or non-infected wounds every 48 hours, depending on the condition of the wound.
