3. HOW SHOULD HIRUDOID OINTMENT BE USED?

5. HOW SHOULD HIRUDOID OINTMENT BE STORED?

What Hirudoid ointment contains
- The active substance is mucopolysaccharide polysulphuric acid ester.
- 100 g ointment contains
o Mucopolysaccharide polysulphuric acid ester 0.3 g
(Organo-Heparinoid "Luitpold") equivalent to 25,000 E.*
units determined via the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT).
o The other ingredients are Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate 0.16 g, Propyl-4-
hydroxybenzoate 0.04 g, glycerol, stearic acid, wool wax alcohol ointment,
cetylstearyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, isopropanol, thymol, potassium hydroxide,
purified water.
