Chronically dry eyes tend to become inflamed

An intact tear film is the basis for eye health. However, if the eyes are repeatedly or even permanently not sufficiently moisturised with tear film and thus protected, this leads to chronically dry eyes. In the long term, the conjunctiva and cornea dry out, which not only causes unpleasant symptoms such as itching and burning of the eyes, but also increases the risk of inflammation. The cause can be a disruption in the production of the tear film, but also a faulty composition of the tears. If, for example, the lipid layer is inadequate, the tear fluid does not adhere to the surface of the eye - the eye becomes dry.

Intensive moisturisation prevents irritation

HYLO DUAL INTENSE® eye drops, which are highly viscous due to their particularly high concentration of long-chain hyaluronic acid of 0.2 % and therefore adhere to the surface of the eye for a long time, provide a remedy. This provides the eye with a particularly intensive and long-lasting moisturising film. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the body with a particularly high water-binding capacity. At the same time, the drops reduce friction between the eyelid and cornea, which prevents additional irritation of the eye and leaves a pleasant feeling.

HYLO DUAL INTENSE® for moderate to severe forms of dry eyes

• Dry eyes are widespread nowadays and affect around one in five adults. Exposure to environmental stimuli, prolonged work in front of a computer screen, allergies and general overstraining of the eyes often result in a permanent wetting disorder in which the tear fluid is no longer produced sufficiently.
• In moderate to severe forms of dry eye, the tear film is often unstable, leading to persistent or severe discomfort due to inflammatory symptoms such as itching, burning, tearing or reddening of the eyes. These symptoms can only be alleviated by intensive moisturising and prolonged wetting of the surface of the eye, which can be guaranteed by the combination of hyaluronic acid and ectoine. The aim of the dual mode of action is to stabilise the tear film and provide lasting protection for the eye.

Hyaluronic acid moisturises and protects The high quality of the hyaluronic acid used in HYLO EYE CARE® products ensures even, stable and particularly long-lasting moisturisation of the surface of the eye. At 0.2 %, HYLO DUAL INTENSE® contains a particularly high concentration of hyaluronic acid, is highly viscous and can alleviate chronic discomfort and thus protect the eye from irritation in the long term. By wetting the eye, foreign bodies and irritants from the environment no longer penetrate the cornea so easily, which reduces the risk of inflammation.

Ectoin stabilises and soothes

The natural substance ectoine also helps to stabilise the fatty phase of the tear film and prevents excessive evaporation of the tear fluid and drying out of the eye. The natural substance is obtained from microorganisms that live under extreme conditions and protect themselves from drying out in highly saline waters by producing ectoine. This ingredient increases water retention on the cells of the eye surface. At the same time, ectoine soothes the stressed tissue and alleviates typical inflammatory symptoms such as burning, itching and a foreign body sensation in the eye.

How to use

1. Remove the cap before each use. To do this, hold the cap just above the bottle and use your other hand to pull the bottle away from the cap with a twisting motion. Before using HYLO DUAL INTENSE® for the first time, please hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing vertically downwards and press the bottom of the bottle repeatedly until the first drop emerges from the tip of the bottle. The bottle is then ready for use for the following applications.
2. Hold the bottle with the dropper tip pointing downwards by placing your thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and your other fingers on the base of the bottle.
3. Support your hand with the COMOD® bottle on your free hand as shown.
4. Lean your head back slightly, pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye with your free hand and press quickly and firmly on the centre of the base of the bottle. This activates the mechanism for removing a drop. Due to the special valve technology of the COMOD® system, the size and speed of the drop is always the same, even if you press very hard on the bottom of the bottle. Close your eyes slowly so that the liquid can spread evenly over the surface of the eye.
5. Close the dropper tip carefully with the cap immediately after use. Please ensure that the dropper tip is dry. Avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye or facial skin when dripping.

Notes: 10 ml of solution can be taken from the bottle; this corresponds to approximately 300 drops. For production reasons, a small amount of liquid always remains in the bottle. The duration of use of HYLO DUAL INTENSE® is not limited. The same person should always be treated with the contents of a bottle of HYLO DUAL INTENSE®.
